Fighter
Base Class: Fighter

Being expert marksmen with a penchant for guerilla tactics, Arbalests are the definitive backline fighters. Able to rain down suppressing fire to pin down enemies and apply effective first aid in dire situations, these warriors become rallying points for their allies and turrets on the battlefield. To many, they are like beacons in the dark.

Guerilla Specialist

Beginning when you choose this archetype at 3rd level, you’ve learnt how to fight effectively with limited resources. You gain the following features:

Field Medic. You gain proficiency in the Wisdom (Medicine) skill and whenever you roll a Wisdom (Medicine) check, you can treat a d20 roll of 7 or lower as an 8.

Ambush Marksman. You gain proficiency in the Dexterity (Stealth) skill. In addition, being prone does not impose disadvantage on your attack rolls and attack rolls do not have advantage against you as a result of laying prone. Finally, while prone, you are considered lightly obscured.

Suppressing Fire

Also at 3rd level, your shots can hinder and pin down your foes. When you hit a creature with a ranged weapon attack, you can reduce the target’s speed by 10 feet until the end of its next turn. A creature can only suffer this reduction once per turn.

In addition, when you score a critical hit against a creature with a ranged weapon attack, its speed is reduced to 0 until the end of its next turn.

Emergency Aid

At 7th level, you’ve learnt how to patch up deadly wounds with expedience. As a bonus action, you can restore 1 hit point to a creature within 5 feet of you that is currently at 0 hit points and grant it a number of temporary hit points equal to your fighter level.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus per long rest.

Sniper's Nest

At 10th level, you can quickly punish any foe that dares to move. Whenever a creature moves while you’re lying prone and they’re within the normal range of one of your ranged weapons, you can use your reaction to make a ranged attack against it.

Run for Cover

At 15th level, you can help wounded allies get out of bad situations. Whenever you use your Emergency Aid feature, the target can immediately use its reaction to stand up from being prone and move up to half its speed without provoking attacks of opportunity. In addition, when you use your Second Wind feature you also gain this benefit, without using your reaction.

Guerilla's Fervor

At 18th level, your reflexes and expert marksmanship allow you to quickly pick off foes. When you reduce a creature to 0 hit points with a ranged attack, you can immediately make another ranged attack against a different creature within range as part of the same action.
