Base Class: Wizard

The Arcane Blade utilizes its knowledge of magecraft to turn their arcane energy into powerful weapons. They are versatile combatants, although some may see them as limited.

Combat Mage

You gain proficiency with light armor, shields, and martial weapons.

You adopt a style of fighting as your specialty. Choose one of the following options. You can’t take a Fighting Style option more than once, even if something in the game lets you choose again.

 
Archery

You gain a +2 bonus to attack rolls you make with ranged weapons.

Defense

While you are wearing armor, you gain a +1 to AC

Dueling

When you are wielding a melee weapon in one hand and no other weapons, you gain a +2 bonus to damage rolls with that weapon.

Protection

When a creature you can see attacks a target other than you that is within 5 feet of you, you can use your reaction to impose disadvantage on the attack roll. You must be wielding a shield.

Two-Weapon FIghting

When you engage in two-weapon fighting, you can add your ability modifier to the damage of the second attack.

Bladecraft

Starting at 2nd level, you can expend a spell slot as a bonus action to conjure a magical weapon for an hour. The duration of this weapon increases by 1 hour when expending a 3rd, 5th, 7th, and 9th level spell slot. This weapon must be of a weapon type that you are proficient with(except for crossbows). The weapon has a number of charges equal to your intelligence modifier. You have proficiency with any weapon you conjure in this manor. This weapon only counts as a magical weapon for purposes of overcoming resistances. The weapon becomes a  +1 weapon at level 6, +2 at level 10, and +3 at level 14. Once per turn, upon a successful weapon attack with the weapon you may expend a charge to cast a cantrip that requires a spell attack on your target using your attack roll. If this weapon has no charges remaining, it dissipates.

Starting at 6th level, once per turn, if you make a successful weapon attack with a weapon created by your bladecraft ability, you may cast a spell with the weapon being the center of the spell. You must expend a number of charges on the weapon equal to the spell level. All creatures have disadvantage on the saving throw of a spell cast this way. At level 10, you no longer have disadvantage on your saving throws cast by your spells in this way. At level 14 you have advantage on your saving throws cast by your spells in this way.

You may only create 1 weapon using this feature at a time. You may not use this feature if you are wearing armor you are not proficient with.

You may expend a spell slot to grant a weapon you are holding a damage bonus of the following types: fire, cold, lighting. This effect lasts for 1 minute. As a bonus action, you may expend another spell slot to change the damage type. This damage scales with the spell slot expended.
1st level: 1d6
3rd level: 2d6
5th level: 3d6
7th level: 4d6
9th level: 5d6

Extra Attack

Starting at 6th level, you can attack twice, instead of once, whenever you take the Attack action on your turn

My sword, my shield

Beginning at 10th level, you can use your weapons created by bladecraft to deflect and absorb damage. When you take damage, you can use your reaction to expend charges from your bladecraft weapon and reduce the damage by an amount equal to 10 times the number of charges used.

The Arcane Blade

Starting at 14th level, you add your intellegence modifier(minimum of +1) to the damage and attack rolls of your weapon attacks with a bladecraft weapon.


Upon a sucessful weapon attack, you may cause your bladecraft weapon to shatter. The target makes a dex save(use your spell dc). Upon a failed save the target takes damage equal to 1d8 per charge on the bladecraft weapon when it was shattered and have disadvantage on any spell concentration checks and spell attack rolls for a number of turns equal to the number of charges on the bladecraft weapon when it was shattered. Upon a sucessful save they take half damage and suffer no other effects. If this effect is used with a ranged weapon such as a long bow or short bow, the arrow shatters and the bow dissipates. You may only use this once per short rest.
