Base Class: Monk
Monks of the Way of the Scornful Fist are known as keepers of order and follow a strict code. They often train their bodies to withstand brutal conditions to the point of exhaustion. This training empowers them, though. They are in almost perfect tune with the ki that flows through their body to the point that they can extend their ki beyond their normal limits, making them fearsome enemy's. They strike down evil mercilessly and deliver punishment as they see fit, most monks of the Scornful Fist do not discriminate when it comes to those that follow a dark path. They can often be seen with numerous scars and afflictions on their bodies, and many wonder if it is a result of hard battles or part of their strict training.
Scornful Fist Technique
3rd-level Way of the Scornful Fist feature
You can manipulate your ki to extend the reach and power of your attacks, striking enemy's without having to touch them. You gain the following features:
- The reach of your unarmed strikes and monk weapons is increased by 5 feet, the additional reach is your ki energy delivering the force of the attack.
- If you would take damage as a result of hitting a creature, you instead take no damage.
- If you deal damage to a creature with one of your unarmed strikes or monk weapons, you can spend a ki point as a bonus action to leave a lingering effect on the creature. At the start of the creatures next turn, it takes additional force damage equal to the damage dealt from one of your attacks that hit during your last turn.
Ki Prison
6th-level Way of the Scornful Fist feature
You can spend 2 ki points as an action to grapple a creature with ki energy that you can see within 15-feet of you, the creature makes the save against your ki save DC. While grappled in this way the creature is also restrained and lifts 5 feet into the air. As long as the creature is grappled, you must concentrate your ki on the creature as if concentrating on a spell, but you may perform other actions as long as the creature stays within 15 feet of you. You can spend an action on subsequent turns to end this effect and slam the creature into the ground, dealing bludgeoning damage equal to 5 + your Wisdom modifier. The creature can repeat the saving throw on each of its turns as an action, ending the effect on a success.
A creature grappled by your ki energy doesn't require you to touch them. This effect ends if your concentration is broken, you move more than 15 feet from the target creature, or you end the effect.
Aspect of Fury
11th-level Way of the Scornful Fist feature
The power of your ki surges within you when you strike your enemy's. You gain the following features:
- You critically hit on attack rolls of a 19 or 20.
- If you are hit by an attack against a creature within your reach, you can spend 1 ki point as a reaction to make a melee attack against that creature.
- When you hit a creature with your unarmed strikes or monk weapons, you can spend 3 ki points to strike fear into that creature. The target must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw against your ki save DC or become frightened of you for 1 minute. The target can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a successful save.
Hand of Gods
17th-level Way of the Scornful Fist Feature
As an action, you choose a point that you can see within 60-feet of you as you extend an open palm to the ground below you. A huge spectral hand in the likeliness of yours slams down from the sky in a 20-foot radius centered at the chosen point. Creatures caught in the area must succeed on a Constitution saving throw against your ki save DC or take 8d10 bludgeoning damage and fall prone. A creature that succeeds on the save takes half damage and does not fall prone. The effected area is considered difficult terrain, as the attack leaves behind a massive hand print into the earth.
Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.
