Base Class: Monk

Disciples of the Monkey King train in harnessing and mastering the use of Ki in the same way the great Monkey King Sun Wu Kong did. They focus in the use of Quarterstaffs and Spears to perform acrobatic attacks and moves.

Monkey Fighting Style

At 3rd level, you train in the acrobatic and versatile style of the monkey with it’s signature kind of weapon, gaining the following benefits.

Monkey Weapon. You gain double proficiency with quarterstaffs and Spears, which count as Monkey Weapons for this subclass features. Adittionally, Quarterstaffs and Spears that you are wielding gain the Reach property, as you take advantage of the full lenght of the weapon for your attacks.

Monkey Acrobatics. When you use the Flurry of Blows monk feature, while wielding your Monkey Weapon, you can use your weapon to plunge yourself to attack. You stick your weapon in a point within 5ft of you and move to that point to perform your unarmed strikes. Then you can land in an unoccupied space within 5ft of that point or in the same point if it is unnoccupied. You can choose the point to stick your weapon even if its occupied by another creature or if it is difficult terrain, also, your movement speed doesn’t count against the movement of your attacks while using this feature and doesn´t provoke any opportunity attacks.

Enchanted Staff of the Monkey King

At 6th level you become more akin to the ki of the Monkey King, granting you the following benefits.

  • Magical Monkey Weapons. Your attacks with Monkey Weapons count as magical for the purpose of overcoming resistance and inmunity to nonmagical attacks and damage.
  • Staff Enlarge. You can expend 1 ki point to influse your Monkey Weapon, increasing it’s size for the turn. The weapon extends a number of feet equal to 5 times your Monk level. You can use the new range to perform your melee weapon attacks and your Monkey Acrobatics feature, letting you choosing a point within the new range of your Monkey Weapon.

Ancient Monkey King Magic

At 11th level you inherit some of the tecniches of Sun Wu Kong. As an action, you can expend 3 Ki points to use one of the following abilities:

  • You can cast Polymorph on yourself
  • You can create 3 clones of yourself which your opponent can´t distinguish from the original. These clones obey your command and have their own innitiative. They can do any action but don´t have any ki points. Also they have temporary hit points equal to your Monk Level + your proficiency bonus and dissappear when dropped to 0 hit points or on your command.
  • You can cast Fly on yourself by conjuring a Golden cloud on your feet.

Avatar of Sun Wu Kong

At 17th level, you have integrated the Ki of the Monkey King, being able to reach a spiritual and physical state close to it. By expending 5 ki points, you can focus your energy to transform yourself into a monkey-like appearance and the glowing Crown of the Monkey King appears in your head. For 1 minute, you gain the following benefits:

  • Your gain a bonus of +4 to you Dexterity and Wisdom modifier and your máximum for those scores is 24.
  • You gain double proficiency on your DEX(Acrobatics) checks and WIS(Perception) checks.
  • Once per Turn, If you miss an attack you can re-roll it, potentially turning that miss into a hit.
  • As a Reaction, if your opponent hits you with an attack, you can make it re roll the attack, potentially turning the hit into a miss.
Avatar Form

Selecting this option has updated the character sheet with the features of your Avatar Form.

Normal Form

Your character is in their normal form. Change this option to "Avatar Form" when the character has transformed.

  • Your gain a bonus of +4 to you Dexterity and Wisdom modifier and your máximum for those scores is 24.

Monkey Physique

You gain double proficiency on your DEX(Acrobatics) checks and WIS(Perception) checks
