Base Class: Monk
Monks of the Way of the Masterless have been abandoned by those who initially trained them, now wandering the world seeking knowledge from all disciplines to increase their abilities. They typically favour both ranged weapons and unarmed combat, generally eschewing melee weapons.
Master Improvisor
Starting at 3rd level, your quick reactions and awareness of your surroundings grant mastery over improvised weapons. This gives all the benefits of the feat Tavern Brawler.
Additional proficiencies
The Monks of the Way of the Masterless are forced for fend for themselves. This means developing additional proficiencies above and beyond others of their class.
You gain proficiency in the skill Survival, if you do not already have it. You also gain proficiency with martial weapons.
Gun Fu
Starting at 6th level, you can channel your ki into your ranged attacks. This means that any ranged attack now also counts as magical for the purposes of overcoming resistance or immunity to nonmagical attacks or damage. It also means that you can spend a ki point to attempt Stunning Strike through your ranged attacks.
Survivor’s Instinct
At 11th level, your awareness of your surroundings has reached masterful levels. Thanks to your time fending for yourself, your instincts are refined to razor sharpness.
This grants the abilities of the Alert feat.
Rage of the Survivor
Starting at 17th level, your survival instincts in battle sharpen when hurt, allowing you greater precision with your strikes.
What this means is that if during combat your hit points fall below half (rounded down) you gain advantage on all attacks until you are healed or combat ends, whichever comes first.
