Monk
Base Class: Monk

Monks of the Way of the Empty Hand specialize in unarmed combat and can draw power from the emptiness that surrounds them, weaponizing their ki on a level beyond others. The Way of the Empty Hand focuses on combat and damage, and a Monk of the Empty Hand can go past their limits in order to keep fighting until the enemy is defeated.

Empty Hand Technique

Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you prefer fighting unarmed and learn to draw strength from the emptiness that surrounds you. While you aren’t wielding a weapon, a shield, or wearing armor, you gain the following benefits.

Critical Strikes. Your unarmed strikes score a critical hit on a roll of 19 or 20.

Power from Loss. Whenever you roll a 1 on your Martial Arts die, you can reroll the die and use the new roll.

Void Ki

At 6th level, you have learned to feed some of your ki abilities with the nothingness that empowers you. As a bonus action while not wielding a weapon, shield, or wearing armor, you gather Void Ki for 1 minute. When you do so, choose one of the following: Flurry of Blows, Patient Defense, Step of the Wind; you can use the chosen ki feature without spending any ki points for the duration. After your Void Ki leaves you, you gain a level of exhaustion.

Your Void Ki immediately leaves you if you begin wielding a weapon or shield or don armor.

Empty Strikes

At 11th level, you learn a special technique that allows you to efficiently weaponize your new power. While your Void Ki is active, your unarmed strikes deal additional force damage equal to two rolls of your Martial Arts die, and creatures hit by your strikes must succeed on a Strength saving throw or you can push them up to 10 feet away from you.

Limitless Barrage

At 17th level, you have learned to break the limits of your ki usage. Immediately after using your Flurry of Blows feature, while not wielding a weapon, shield, or wearing armor, you can make additional unarmed strikes by spending 1 ki point per additional strike.
