Monk
Base Class: Monk

Monks of the Way of the Deadly Hand have taken a vow of martial supremacy and have honed their bodies to the peak of human perfection, as well as turning every possible part on their body into a deadly weapon all on it's own. While the way of the Open Hand strikes a balance between offense and defense, the Way of the Deadly Hand instead focuses upon ending a threat as quickly as possible, preferably before they get a chance to strike back. By enhancing themselves with their own inner reserves of ki, they become deadly powerhouses, for a short time.

Fists of Fury

Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you can manipulate your own ki and use it to empower yourself. You may spend 1 ki point to empower your body and whenever you make an unarmed attack, you deal and extra Martial Arts damage die on 1 attack per turn for 1 minute. This damage scales with your Martial Arts die, (i.e d6, d8, d10 and d12 at later levels). The benefit of this feature is not usable with a weapon attack, only unarmed attacks.

Fast Fists

Gain proficiency in the Sleight of Hand skill.

Weapon Breaker

Whenever you spend 1 ki point to empower your body for your Fists of Fury feature, you gain access to this feature. As a bonus action, you make target an enemy's weapon and attempt to cripple or destroy them. If the weapon is a nonmagical weapon, and isn't a natural weapon for the enemy (such as claws or teeth), the enemy must make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failure, the weapon they are holding is removed from their grasp and destroyed, making it unusable for the rest of the fight. If the weapon is magical, or a natural weapon, the enemy must make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failure, they have disadvantage on all attack rolls for the next round.

Flashfire Fist

Beginning at 11th level, you may spend 4 ki points to cast the spell [Tooltip Not Found] on yourself. While under the effects of the spell, you gain the following benefits:

  • Your movement speed is doubled
  • You gain +2 to your Armor Class
  • You have advantage on Dexterity saving throws
  • You make one additional Action

When the spell effect ends, you are Stunned for one round due to the physical exertion.

Additionally, you gain another attack per turn with your Fists of Fury feature ability, allowing you to deal extra damage for 2 attacks per turn instead of 1.

Soul Intercepting Fist

At 17th level, you may spend 5 ki points to empower yourself even further and allow yourself to target the enemy's spirt directly. For 1 round, all of your unarmed strikes bypass resistance. If the enemy is immune, they instead take half damage as if they were resistant. Additionally, the target must make a Wisdom saving throw. If they fail, you may impose Disadvantage on one saving throw of your choice. They may repeat the saving throw once at the end of each of their turns.
