Monk
Base Class: Monk

You follow one of the unorthodox monastic traditions. Practitioners of the way of the summoned sword see the sword not just as an object, but they take it for what it represents, a weapon designed to deliver lethal blows, a weapon designed for finesse and skill. They focus on becoming the sword itself, a materialization of their own will to kill and fight. In this they are able to extend that into physical manifestations. Swords conjured from pure Ki energy.

Monks of the Summoned Sword usually dress themselves in clothes of vivid or neutral color, most like to use themes as black and white to represent the ying yang, although others will choose red or golden robes to showcase their affinities and qualities of their own ki.

Summoned Sword

Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you can hurl swords made of pure Ki energy.

You gain a new attack option that you can use with the Attack action. This special attack is a ranged spell attack with a range of 30 feet. You are proficient with it, and you add your Dexterity modifier to its attack and damage rolls. Its damage is slashing, and its damage die is a d4. This die changes as you gain monk levels, as shown in the Martial Arts column of the Monk table. This damage is magical for the purposes of overcoming magical resistances.

When you take the Attack action on your turn and use this special attack as part of it, you can spend 1 ki point to make the special attack twice as a bonus action.

When you gain the Extra Attack feature, this special attack can be used for any of the attacks you make as part of the Attack action.

Blade Dash

At 6th level, you gain the ability to channel your ki into a burst of deadly movement.

You can spend 2 ki points to perform a Blade Dash as a bonus action. You brandish your weapon and in one motion, you dash in a straight line up to 30ft. During this movement, you may move through creatures and do not provoke opportunity attacks. Each creature in the line must make a Dexterity saving throw. A creature takes 3d8 slashing damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. This damage is considered magical for the purposes of overcoming magic resistances. You can spend additional ki points to increase the damage by 1d8, up to a max of {{(classlevel/2)@rounddown}}.

Vanishing Sword

At 11th level, you gain the ability to be a devastating whirlwind of blades. As an action, you flourish your weapon and then vanish to strike like the wind. Choose up to two creatures you can see within 30 feet. Make a melee weapon attack against them. You can then teleport to an unoccupied space you can see within 5 feet of one of the targets you hit or missed.

You can increase the number of targets by spending ki points. Each point you spend, to a maximum of 3, increases the number of targets(to a maximum of 5 targets).

Phalanx

At 17th level, you become a beacon of sword mastery. As a bonus action, you can conjure 5 Summoned Swords to dance around you until used. You can cause them all to vanish as a subsequent bonus action.

While you have at least one Summoned Sword remaining and a creature hits you with a melee attack, you can use your reaction to automatically hit with one of your Summoned Swords(no roll necessary) dealing your martial arts die + Dexterity in slashing damage. This damage is considered magical for the purposes of magical resistance.
