Monk
Base Class: Monk

Channeling the way of the mountain, these monks forego dexterous movements in favor of powerful muscles, reflecting the great force within.

Spirit of the Mountain

Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you begin to channel the sturdiness of the rocky mountain. You gain the following benefits:

  • You may use Strength in place of Dexterity for Unarmored Defense and Deflect Missiles.
  • Instead of the normal amount of Ki points, you now have a pool of Ki equal to four times your monk level.
  • You may use heavy and two-handed weapons as monk weapons, however monk weapons can no longer be ranged unless they are thrown weapons.
  • You gain proficiency in martial melee weapons.
  • Your Hit dice is now a d10, and you have the option of re rolling your health with your new hit dice.

Stand Tall

The honor of the mountain grants you the courage to stand tall in the face of danger. When you are subjected to an effect that allows you to make a Dexterity saving throw to take only half damage, you may spend a Ki point to shield yourself. You then make a Strength saving throw to take no damage if you succeed, and only half damage if you fail. This replaces the Evasion ability monks normally have.

Tranquility

Beginning at 11th level, you can enter a special meditation that surrounds you with an aura of peace. At the end of a long rest, you gain the effect of a sanctuary spell that lasts until the start of your next long rest (the spell can end early as normal). The saving throw DC for the spell equals 8 + your Wisdom modifier + your proficiency bonus.

Heart of the Mountain

Your unyielding spirit makes you as indomitable as the tallest mountain. At the end of a long rest, you gain a pool of temporary hit points equal to two times your max hit points. These hit points only apply if both your feet are on the ground. if both of your feet are off the ground for more than a round, for example you are knocked to the ground, are bound, or are falling, these hit points become inaccessible until you are standing again. If these hit points are depleted, then once per long rest you may spend 20 Ki points as an action in order to completely replenish these hit points.
