Monk
Base Class: Monk

Monks that are practitioners of Wing Chun are the ultimate masters of close quarters combat. They have conditioned their bodies throughout their aggressive training so that even their defensive maneuvers can be weaponized. Opportunistic tactics and economic movements are focal points of this style.

Siu Nim Tao

You have conditioned your body to utilize even your defensive maneuvers as a means of harming your opponents.

Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you have mastered the first form known as Siu Nim Tao or Little Idea. As a bonus action you can expend 1 Ki point to enter into a rooted stance and you remain in this stance until you move willingly. While you are in this rooted stance you can take advantage of the failed attacks of your enemies. When an enemy makes a melee attack against you and overcomes your AC, you may use your reaction to reduce the attacks damage by 1d10 + your monk level while dealing damage equal to your Wisdom modifier. If the attack is reduced to zero you may make one unarmed strike against the enemy. If an attack fails to overcome your AC, you may use your reaction to deal damage equal to your Wisdom modifier.

Chum Kiu

You have learned how to utilize your aggressive style of combat to gain advantageous positioning against a single opponent.

At 6th level you have mastered the second form Chum Kiu or Seeking Bridge, while you are in your rooted stance if you have made two successful unarmed strikes against a single target, that enemy has disadvantage on all melee attacks against you until the start of your next turn.

Additionally, while in your rooted stance, you have advantage on all saving throws against being pushed or falling prone.

Bil Jee

Your training has made fighting in close quarters nearly effortless for you. Your ability to seamlessly move around your opponents allows you to cause attacks meant for you to instead strike the allies of those accosting you.

At 11th level you have mastered the third form Bil Jee or Thrusting Fingers. While you are in your rooted stance and engaged in melee combat with an opponent, if an attack from another creature were to hit you, you can expend 1 Ki point to force the opponent you are currently engaged with to make a Dexterity saving throw (DC equals 8 + wis mod + PB). On a failed save you swap positions with your opponent causing the attack to hit them instead.

Additionally, you have conditioned your body to the brutality of combat. You gain resistance to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage.

Soft Strikes

You have learned a very dangerous and effective way of striking your opponents that cuts through the external defenses to inflict damage internally.

At 17th level, you have perfected a striking style referred to as the Soft Palm. At the start of your turn (no action required) you may spend up to 5 Ki points. Your unarmed strikes gain bonuses to attack and damage rolls equal to the amount of Ki points you’ve spent. Additionally you gain the effects of the Haste spell. These effects last for 1 minute and do not require concentration. You may use this ability once per short rest.
