Base Class: Monk
Your background as a working person has soured you to undue oppression of people like you. Use your martial skills and charismatic prowess to rally allies and bolster their abilities. Gain additional proficiencies, bonus actions, opportunities for your allies, spells, and a special Reaction at level 17 that may help save lives.
Working Hand Technique
Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you can choose on your turn to take the Help action as a Bonus action instead of an Action. The limits as written in the Player's Handbook apply as usual, with the added caveat that the Help action cannot be taken twice in one turn (AKA: no taking Help as an Action then following up with Help as a Bonus Action).
In addition, on your turn, when you take the Flurry of Blows bonus action, add an additional attack for every ally that is within 10ft of you. For example: if there are two allies in 10ft of you when you take the Flurry of Blows action, your two attacks become four.
Additional Proficiencies
At third level, your dedication to others like yourself and your experience protecting yourself and others from trouble has granted you proficiency with improvised weapons. Join your comrades in gaining proficiency with a set of artisan's tools. When you gain this feature, you may also choose to grant one proficiency to each of two of your allies in a different set of artisan's tools.
Proletariat Tactics
At 6th level, your allies have learned to follow your lead. When you use any of the Bonus Actions: Flurry of Blows, Step of the Wind, or Patient Defense, allies in 10ft of you gain one of the following effects:
- Flurry of Blows: Allies in 10ft of you, in range of an enemy, and holding a weapon may make one melee or ranged weapon attack immediately following your attacks.
- Step of the Wind: Allies within 10ft of any point on your path may, immediately following your movement, use up to half their speed to follow in the same direction you are moving to the best of their ability.
- Patient Defense: Allies within 10ft of your position when taking this Bonus Action may add +2 to their AC until the beginning of their next turn (or the next time they take a Reaction). This increases to +5 to their AC when you reach Monk level 11.
Creatures that are incapacitated, unconscious, or otherwise unable to move cannot benefit from any of these effects.
Aura of Assistance
Beginning at 11th level, you gain the ability to cast spells using ki, Charisma is your spellcasting modifier. You must expend one ki point per spell level to cast a spell on the following list; in addition, you gain the ability to cast the cantrips Friends and Guidance, the range for each of these cantrips is expanded: they each may extend up to 10ft. All of these spells are always prepared, require regular components and casting times, and are known to you innately (requiring no spellbook). Each spell may not be cast at higher levels. Your spellcasting focus is your body.
Final Devotion
Spending 5 ki points on your Reaction, you can attempt a DC(1/2 damage) CHA saving throw to transfer the damage your ally would take to your own body. When an ally in sight would be killed or knocked unconscious by an attack you can see, you may choose to make this saving throw as a Reaction. On a failure, the damage is dealt to the original target and one half of the damage total is also dealt to you. On a success, the original target is spared any damage and you take all of the damage total yourself. This action is only possible once per long rest.
