Monk
Base Class: Monk

Followers of the Way of the Lash, wish to achieve enlightenment and peace like most other monks, only, they believe it is fundamentally impossible, and that all who believe otherwise deceive themselves and live eternally unhappy. But followers of the Way of the Lash have devised a solution to this. By giving into all of there rage and emotions in short bursts, they are able to stay relatively "enlightened" for long periods of time.

Now you might be wondering as to the meaning of the lash. Well, it has been found that the whip is by far the best instrument to expel anger and rage, the two strongest opponents of enlightenment. As such, the lash acts as a sort of therapy weapon, an output for such levels of negative emotion.

The Lash

You gain proficiency with the whip, they also count as monk weapons in addition to simple weapons and short swords.

If you don't already have a whip, you may use the better part of a long rest to craft one, using only around 10 ft of rope, cloth, or another similar piece of material.

Fury

Starting at the 3rd level you have gained the ability to mix your rage and ki into a powerful burst of destruction.

As a bonus action, or a reaction after taking damage, you may choose to spend 3 ki points, or 1 ki point and a number of hit points equal to your monk level, in order to invoke Fury. If you do, at the beginning of your next turn you are filled with rage and overwhelming power, for the next 5 rounds you gain the following benefits:

  • You have advantage on all attack rolls
  • All attacks deal an additional 2 points of force damage, this value increases by 1 at the 6th, 10th, 14th, and 18th levels.
  • You gain resistance to all non magical and force damage.

However, while Fury is active you also suffer the following consequences:

  • Other creatures have advantage on attack rolls against you.
  • You must take the attack action (or the compose action) as your main action.
  • When you miss an attack, the attack hits you and you take half damage (this dose not include your resistances).

You may end Fury early by taking an action to compose yourself.

Manipulator

Beginning at the 6th level, in addition to being proficient at throwing around and manipulating your opponents, your also skilled at getting thrown around without dying.

You may attempt to Straddle creatures who are of a larger size level and aren't immune to the condition Grappled, you can make a Straddle check in the same way you make a Grapple check, on fail they suffer the condition Straddled (the target's movement speed is halved. The condition ends if: the Straddler is knocked unconscious, purposefully ends the condition using a bonus action or reaction, or is forcefully removed from the target). While Straddling a creature your movement speed is 0 and you are moved in the same magnitude and direction when your target uses its movement speed. You may end the condition any time on your turn as a bonus action, or any other time as a reaction.

While wielding a whip you can make a grapple/straddle check with a reach of 10 ft.

While you have a target Grappled (When attempting a grapple check the target may only choose to make a Str(athletics) saving throw):

  • You have advantage on attack rolls made against the target.
  • You may use an action to attempt to pin the target, if so the target must make a Str(athletics) saving throw. On fail both you and the target are restrained, though you may end the condition any time on your turn, or any other time as a reaction.
  • You may use an attack or bonus action to attempt to knock the target prone, the target makes a Str(athletics) saving throw. On fail the target is knocked prone and takes (monk damage die) bludgeoning damage.

While you have a target Straddled (When attempting a straddle check the target may only choose to make a Dex(acrobatics) saving throw):

  • The target has disadvantage on attack rolls made against you.
  • When your target makes an ability check or attack roll, you may use your reaction to impose a Dex(acrobatics) saving throw. On fail the target fails their ability check or attack roll.
  • You may use an attack or bonus action to attempt to knock the target prone, the target makes a Dex(acrobatics) saving throw. On fail the target is knocked prone and takes (monk damage die) bludgeoning damage.

Crackle

As an attack or bonus action, while your wielding a whip, you may spend one or more ki points (maximum of 2. At higher levels: 3 at the 13th, and 4 at the 17th) to make a Crackle Strike.

Crackle Strike. Spend X ki point/s, choose a sphere with a radius of 5X ft, up to 10 ft away from you. All creatures within that area (except you) are subjected to a Constitution saving throw. On fail they take 1 + X(monk damage die) + (Wisdom modifier) Force damage, on success they take half.

X = the amount of ki points you spend (maximum of 2. At higher levels: 3 at the 13th, and 4 at the 17th)

Extra Attack

Beginning at the 11th level, you can make 3 attacks, instead of 2, when you take the attack action.

Unleash

As an action, you may spend 5 ki points, or 3 ki points and a number of hit points equal to monk level, to cast Haste on yourself.

Side Note. Totally ignore the fact that you can only use haste to make 1 additional attack, have some fun and make 3.
