Show Stopper

When you choose this archetype at 3rd level, you master the techniques required to skim weapons in arcs and angles, finding the sweet spoit in the balance of every weapon you throw.

You can the following benefits when making a ranged attack with a weapon that has the throws property:

  • Weapons with the thrown property are also considered finesse weapons when you make ranged attacks with them, meaning you can use Dexterity instead of Strength for the attack and damage rolls and apply sneak attack damage.
  • You can draw or stow two one-handed weapons with the thrown property as your free action when you would normally be able to draw or stow only one.
  • When you engage in two-weapon fighting, you can add your ability modifier to the damage of the second thrown ranged attack.

Ricochet

At 9th level, you perfect the timing of your angles when throwing weaponry, causing them to glance off, ricochet and bounce back towards you.

After you hit a target with a ranged attack using a thrown weapon, you can roll a d20, if the result is lower than your Dexterity (Sleight of Hand) modifier, the weapon returns, and you can choose to catch the returning weapon if you have a free hand available (requires no action). If you choose not to catch the weapon, it instead lands in an unoccupied area within 5 feet of you.

Sense

Starting at 13th level, after being amongst the sly life of betting, waters, and gambles, you develop a knack for tatting out cheaters and liars.

You have advantage on Insight checks you make to determine if you are being deceived or attempting to sense liars.

Increased Range

Additionally at 13th level, you bend and arc your slings to increase the distance they travel.

When you make a ranged attack with a thrown weapon, the weapon's normal range increases by 20 feet and its long range increases by 40 feet for that attack.

Additional Ricochet

Once you reach 17th level, your weapon slinging is a mathematical art, finding calculated ways to aim your attacks at multiple targets.

Once per turn, when you hit a creature with a ranged weapon attack with a thrown, you can target an additional creature within 10 feet of that initial target for the weapon to bounce to. You can make an additional attack roll against the bounce to target, if it hits, you apply your weapon damage plus an additional 2d6 weapon damage. You can repeat this process to another bounce target within 10 feet of that target. You may only attack targets with Deadly Deflections once per turn and they cannot be a previous bounce target more than once per turn. Once you miss the bounce ends and the weapon falls to the ground.

Card Adept

Starting at 3rd level, your quick dealing skills apply to your card tricks too, you gain proficiency in Playing Cards and can double your proficiency when attempting to perform sleight of hand tricks with them.
