Base Class: Monk
In the unpredictable reaches of the Feywild, there lies a tree planted by an unknown devil. The fruit of this tree permanently alters the bodies of any who eat it, giving them the properties of a highly durable rubber. The Way of the Rubber Arm was created to harness the potential of this malleable state, increasing the body's reach and defenses. As monks of this tradition gain greater control of their ki, they learn to manipulate their elastic bodies in more and more powerful ways.
Gum Gum Style
At 3rd level, you begin to utilize your body's rubber properties in combat. You gain the following benefits:
- Elastic Reach: Your unarmed strikes now have a range of 15 feet. This increases by 5 feet at 6th level (20), 11th level (25), and 17th level (30). You cannot make opportunity attacks or gain the benefits of flanking at this range.
- Rebound: As a reaction, you can spend 1 ki point to avoid falling prone.
- Slingshot: As a bonus action, you can climb a distance equal to your Elastic Reach without using any of your movement.
Rubber Rescuer
By 6th level, you have learned to use your elastic body to protect your allies. You gain the following benefits as reactions:
- You can use Deflect Missiles whenever a creature within 10 feet of you is hit with a ranged weapon attack.
- You can spend 1 ki point to grant Bludgeoning damage resistance to any creature that lands within 10 feet of you after falling.
- If a creature begins falling within range of your Elastic Reach, you can spend 1 ki point to catch them and pull them 10 feet closer to you.
- If you are falling with other creatures, you can spend 2 ki points to wrap your arms around every creature of your choice within 15 feet of you. You then all gain the benefits of Slow Fall.
Stretch and Squash
By 11th level, you have gained extreme control over your muscles and bones. You gain the following benefits:
- Expansion: As an action, you can spend 3 ki points to expand one of your limbs for 1 minute or until you are incapacitated. While in this state, any creature you hit with an unarmed strike must succeed on a Strength saving throw or be pushed 10 feet beyond the range of your Elastic Reach. You can also attack two creatures at once if they are within 5 feet of each other, but have disadvantage to hit any creature within 5 feet of you. When this state ends, you become paralyzed until the end of your next turn.
- Pressurization: As an action, you can spend 3 ki points to dramatically increase your blood flow for 1 minute or until you are incapacitated. While in this state, your movement speed is doubled and you have advantage on attack rolls and Dexterity saving throws. If your speed has been reduced to 0, you regain half your normal movement until the effect that reduced your speed is removed. When this state ends, you take 2 levels of exhaustion.
Unbendable
Upon reaching 17th level, you can control the hardness of your skin as well as the size of your limbs and the flow of your blood. As an action, you can spend 5 ki points to gain the following benefits for 10 minutes:
- Both Expansion and Pressurization are activated at the same time.
- You become immune to all nonmagical Bludgeoning, Slashing, and Piercing weapon attacks.
- Your unarmed strike damage is doubled.
- Your AC increases by 3.
When this state ends, you take 2 levels of exhaustion and are incapacitated for 1 minute.
