Monk
Base Class: Monk

Monks who follow the Way of the Back-alley have learned to harness the chaos and unpredictability of the urban underworld. They are skilled in using makeshift weapons and employ ruthless tactics to gain the upper hand in combat. These monks are no strangers to the grim reality of street fights, and their training reflects the necessity of adapting to the gritty and unforgiving nature of back-alley brawls.

Back-alley Tactics

At 3rd level, you gain proficiency with improvised weapons and can use them as monk weapons. When wielding an improvised weapon, you can use your Dexterity modifier for attack and damage rolls

Dirty Fighting

Starting at 6th level, you've mastered the art of fighting dirty. When you hit a creature with a melee attack, you can spend 1 ki point to make the attack a Dirty Strike. The target must succeed on a Constitution saving throw against your monk save DC or be stunned until the end of your next turn.

Gritty Resilience

At 11th level, your experiences in the back alleys have toughened you. You gain advantage on saving throws against being frightened, and you can spend 1 ki point to reroll a failed saving throw against a fear effect.

Alley Cat's Reflexes

Starting at 17th level, your reflexes become unparalleled. When an attacker that you can see hits you with an attack, you can use your reaction to halve the attack's damage against you. If you reduce the damage to 0, you can spend 2 ki points to make a counterattack with advantage.
