Monk
Base Class: Monk

The traditional monks choose to leave their earthly possessions behind, embracing a life without vice or urge. Monks of this school believe that there is strength in vice. They harness the idea of the Jackpot as a source of immense power, tapping into it using luck to manifest strength beyond any other monastery. Monks of the Way of the Restless Gambler fight at a subpar level in comparison to their peers, but when needed they can attempt to roll the dice and unleash a surge in power unparalleled. All fights to them are gambling with their life, and their fighting style is no different.

Bonus Proficiencies

When you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you gain proficiency in the Deception skill if you don’t already have it. Your martial arts technique mixes the strategy of combat with the strategy of gambling to produce incredible risks and payouts. You also gain proficiency with either playing card set or dice set if you don’t already have it.

Jackpot

At 3rd level, your gambling spirit can manifest as a literal gamble in order to get more ki points. As a bonus action, you can roll a d6. If the dice rolls a 6, you gain an infinite amount of ki points for the next 3 turns and regain an amount of hp at the start of each turn equal to your Monk level plus your proficiency bonus. When you take this bonus action, you can spend 1 to 5 ki points to add an additional d6 for each ki point you spend, increasing the odds of rolling a 6 on one of them.

After successfully hitting a jackpot, you must finish a short rest before you can use this feature again.

Unbelievable Luck

Starting at 6th level, your luck has become superhuman. When you make a luck roll, you gain a bonus to the roll equal to your proficiency bonus.

Additionally, once per short rest when you roll a d6 for your Jackpot feature, you can reroll one of the d6.

Constant Spins

Starting at 11th level, your Jackpot is theoretically infinite. When your successful Jackpot ends, you can immediately spend 2 ki points to roll another d6. If the dice rolls a 6, then the Jackpot continues for another 3 turns. After those additional 3 turns are over, you may spend 4 ki points to attempt the same roll again. This goes on, increasing by 2 ki points each time, until you either run out of ki or fail.

These ki points are spent from your limited pool, and are not pulled from the infinite amount received by your Jackpot feature.

Surprise Jackpot

At 17th level, you gain the ability to roll your Jackpot at a time when it's the least convenient for your enemies. As a reaction at any time while you have your Jackpot feature, you can attempt to roll your Jackpot. When you attempt to roll it in this way, you cannot spend additional ki to add dice.

Additionally, if your Jackpot feature is expended, you can use your bonus action to spend 2 ki points to replenish it.
