Base Class: Monk
You emulate the styles of the Legendary beasts, the dragon, the serpent, the crane, the leopard and the tiger. Those who practice this martial art are expected to fully embody the beasts, in both body and soul. Monks of this tradition tend to behave in such a way that they copy the behaviors of the beasts as a way to fully utilize the strength and abilities of these beasts.
Upon reaching 3rd level and choosing this path, you choose a Beast Style, which reflects your fighting style and alters the functionality of your basic ki abilities. Once you choose your style, it becomes permanent. As a practitioner of this martial art, you seek to fully embody the spirit and abilities of the five beasts: the dragon, the snake, the tiger, the leopard, and the crane. Monks of this tradition emulate the behaviors of these beasts to maximize their strength and abilities.
Beast Styles
You can gain minor physical attributes that mimic your chosen beast. For example, dragon scales or snake eyes.
Dragon Style
The dragon symbolizes spirit and presence. The Dragon Style trains you to develop mental fortitude and sharpness, embodying the dragon's unflinching resolve and immovable strength.
Dragon Scale Strike: When you use Flurry of Blows, as part of your bonus action, you gain an armor class bonus equal to your proficiency modifier until the start of your next turn. This bonus does not stack.
Dragon Hand Form: When you use Patient Defense, as part of your Dodge action, if a creature targets you with an attack and that attack hits, you can use your reaction to turn it into a miss.
Dragon Rush: When you use the Step of the Wind feature, as part of your Dash action, if you move at least 10 feet in a straight line and make a melee attack against a Large or smaller creature, it must make a Strength saving throw or be pushed 10 feet away from you. If the creature were to hit an obstruction such as an object, wall or another creature both will take bludgeoning damage equal to your martial arts die + your constitution modifier.
Snake Style
The flowing movement of the snake style emulates the flow of ki energy. Snake techniques focus on mastering ki energy to move and strike.
Venom Flow: Once per turn, when you successfully attack a creature with your unarmed strikes during Flurry of Blows, you can force those creatures to make a Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, the creatures become poisoned.
Serpentine Shift: When you use Patient Defense, as part of your Dodge action, if a creature misses you with a melee attack, you can use your reaction to redirect the attack to another creature within 5 feet of it.
Slither Sprint: When using Step of the Wind, you gain the effects of both the Disengage and Dash actions.
Tiger Style
The Tiger Style embodies internal force, representing the ability to break both the body and spirit of foes with a single strike.
Tiger Strike: When you use Flurry of Blows, you can attempt to shove a creature during each of your unarmed attacks.
Wild Intimidation: When using Patient Defense, as part of your Dodge action, if a creature misses you with a melee attack, you can spend your reaction to force the creature to make a Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, the creature becomes frightened of you.
Predation: When you use Step of the Wind, as part of the feature, you designate a creature you can see as prey. When moving in a straight line toward the creature, you negate the effects of difficult terrain and can move through enemy spaces. Attacks of opportunity against you during this movement are made with disadvantage.
Leopard Style
The Leopard Style embodies the skills of master hunters and applies them to martial arts.
Lightning Claws: When you use Flurry of Blows, you can make one additional unarmed strike per turn.
Prowling: When you use Patient Defense, as part of your Dodge action, you can also take the Hide action if you are obscured.
Bounding Leap: When you use Step of the Wind, your jump distance is tripled, and you no longer require a running start for running jumps.
Crane Style
Though delicate in appearance, the Crane Style incorporates the sharp beak and talons of a predator into its combat techniques.
Disarming Talon: When you use Flurry of Blows, you can use the Disarm action once per turn against a target creature.
Feather Dance: When you use Patient Defense as part of your Dodge action, you gain the effect of half cover against ranged attacks.
Elegant Step: When you use Step of the Wind, as part of the feature, until the start of your next turn, you can move up to half your speed as a reaction when an enemy ends its turn within 5 feet of you. This movement doesn't provoke opportunity attacks.
Beast Stance
At 6th level, your movements become more attuned to the Beast Styles, giving you an edge in combat. Your chosen style determines your Stance
Dragon Stance: You gain resistance to acid, cold, fire, lightning, and thunder damage as long as you did not move during your turn.
Snake Stance: Creatures ignore resistance to the poisoned condition caused by this subclass's features. When creatures affected by your abilities are poisoned, they take poison damage at the start of each of their turns equal to half your monk level, rounded down.
Tiger Stance: Once per turn, on a successful unarmed attack against a creature, you lower their AC by an amount equal to your proficiency modifier. This effect lasts until the end of your turn and does not stack.
Leopard Stance: Your unarmed attacks score a critical hit on a roll of 19 or 20.
Crane Stance: Your unarmed attacks gain the reach property, increasing their range by 5 feet.
Bestial Form
At 11th level, your cultivation has borne fruit as you draw upon the full power of your styles, becoming a true beast. You can spend 3 ki points as a bonus action to activate the Bestial Form associated with your chosen style. This form lasts for 1 minute and can be ended at will or until you are incapacitated.
Dragon Form:
Dragon Skin: You gain resistance to non-magical slashing, piercing, and bludgeoning damage, as well as advantage on Constitution saving throws against spells. Additionally, you cannot be knocked prone, grappled, or shoved.
Draconic Presence: Your size becomes Large, using ki to manifest a dragon-like aura. However, if the room is too small, your size does not increase. Your unarmed attacks gain the siege property, dealing double damage to objects, structures, and constructs.
Snake Form:
Serpent Physique: You gain blindsight with a range of 30 feet, immunity to poison damage, and the poisoned condition.
Python Strangulation: Your grapple reach extends to 10 feet, and you can attempt a grapple after an attack action. When you successfully grapple a creature more than 5 feet away, you can move into an unoccupied space next to the grappled creature without triggering an attack of opportunity.
Tiger Form:
Brutalize: You can make three attacks per turn when you use the Attack action.
Overwhelming Aura: Once per turn, when you reduce a creature's hit points to zero, you can spend a reaction to project an aura within a 10-foot cube around you, using your ki. Creatures within range must make a Wisdom saving throw. Those that fail are frightened of you.
Leopard Form:
Ambush Predator: You gain the effects of the blur spell, displacing your image with shifting ki.
Death from Above: While climbing a vertical surface, you can hold your position without falling, regardless of terrain. While holding this position, you can take the Hide action even while lightly obscured, and you have advantage on Stealth checks.
Crane Form:
Feather Flow: You gain a flying speed of 30 feet. However, if you end your turn in the air without any support, you fall.
Wing Assault: Making melee attacks while moving grants you immunity to opportunity attacks.
Twin Beasts
At 17th level, you are nearing the peak of your martial prowess. Your cultivation has unlocked a breakthrough, but you've found a missing piece in your training that prevents you from reaching even greater heights. With this feature, you choose to train in another beast style and mold it into your own martial art.
As an action, you can unleash the power of your second style, gaining all the features of both styles. This effect lasts for 10 minutes, ends prematurely if you become incapacitated, or can be turned off at will. While in effect, you gain all the abilities of your second style and can choose to activate the abilities separately or simultaneously. After using this feature, you cannot use it again until you finish a long rest
