Base Class: Rogue
You had to slaughter in the Yokai realm to survive. Towering creatures, misleading cretins, arrogant monsters; any of them can be your allies or your mortal enemies. The best way to kill them was when they least expected it. You are a master of disguise and assassination through any means necessary.
Yokai survival
When you choose this archetype at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with the disguise kit and the poisoner's kit. When the character is a Yokai, they can turn into their normal creature's counterpart once per long rest.
Assassinate
Starting at 3rd level, you are at your deadliest when you get the drop on your enemies. You have advantage on attack rolls against any creature that hasn't taken a turn in the combat yet. In addition, any hit you score against a creature that is surprised is a critical hit.
Critical Knowledge
Starting at 9th level, you can force critical hits as a reaction against any opponents with medium and heavy armour. You've fought many armoured creatures in your past, you know the weakspots in said heavy armour.
You can only do this twice per long rest.
One with the shadows
At 13th level, you have learned to become one with the shadows. When you are in an area of dim light or darkness, you can use your action to become invisible. You remain invisible until you make an attack, cast a spell, or are in an area of bright light.
Destined Death
Starting at 17th level, you become a master of instant death. When you attack and hit a creature that is surprised, it must make a Constitution saving throw (DC 8 + your Dexterity modifier + your proficiency bonus). On a failed save, double the damage of your attack against the creature.
