Fighter
Base Class: Fighter

Blade Masters focus on flexibility and maneuverability in combat while employing defensive tactics that make them seem insurmountable to other melee fighters.
Their combat style excels at swiftly dealing with large amounts of unskilled targets, as well as overcoming even the strongest melee fighters.

While unparalleled in their field, they do still have their fair share of weaknesses, Spellcasters and Monsters that Grapple or attack from range prove more difficult for a Blade Master as their techniques rely on their movement, and countering conventional attacks while in melee.

Counter Stance

Starting at 3rd level, you learn a defensive stance that focuses on parrying an opponents attacks while returning one of your own.

As an Action your AC is increased by an amount equal to your Proficiency Bonus until the start of your next turn.
In that time whenever a creature within your melee reach misses an attack against you, or attacks a creature other than you, you may make a melee weapon attack against them without using your Reaction.
Charges equal to your Proficiency Bonus, restored on a Short Rest.

Sword Drawing Technique

Starting at 3rd level, you have practiced a method of drawing your sword and quickly making attacks without leaving yourself open to attacks yourself.

As a Bonus Action you sheathe your weapon and prepare your next move.
Your next Melee weapon attack has Advantage, and as part of it you can move up to 10ft without using your turns movement or provoking Opportunity Attacks, if the attack lands you can make one additional melee weapon attack as part of the same Action or Reaction.

While Sword Drawing Technique is prepared, a creature that enters within your weapons reach provokes an Opportunity Attack from you, your next Reaction that uses your melee weapon can be used up to 10ft further than normal, doing so allows you move up to 10ft without provoking Opportunity Attacks to get within the normal range of the Reaction.
Only one weapon at a time can be prepared with Sword Drawing Technique, and is unprepared by any action that would require to to stop wielding your weapon.

Sword Dance

Starting at 7th level, whenever you reduce a hostile creature to zero Hit Points you gain Temp Health equal to your Fighter level, and your Sword Drawing Technique is instantly prepared.

Heightened Reflexes

Starting at 10th level, your reflexes in combat have been honed far beyond a normal fighter.

You have an additional Reaction each turn, and if you aren't Surprised at the start of combat your Sword Drawing Technique is instantly prepared.

Perfected Techniques

Starting at 15th level, when using Counter Stance or Sword Drawing Technique they gain an additional effect.

When using Counter Stance: You gain the benefit of the Dodge action.
When using Sword Drawing Technique: You can make two additional attacks as part of the same action, and you no longer need to land the first strike.

Overcome

Starting at 18th level, your unyielding spirit seemingly pulls strength from tomorrow.

Once per short rest when taking damage that would render you Unconscious but not kill you outright, you can use your Reaction to instead be reduced to one Hit Point and gain Temp Health equal to half of your maximum.

At the end of combat you lose any remaining Temp Health and suffer a level of Exhaustion.
