Fighter
Base Class: Fighter

A warrior whose special techniques combined the ferocious power of their strikes causes it to feel as though fighting against them is like fighting a giant.

Colossal Strikes

When you pick this subclass at the 3rd level, you learn a number of specialty strikes that allows you to make powerful attacks against multiple enemies at once. When you take the Attack action on your turn while you are wielding a melee weapon that you are proficient with, you can choose to use one of the following special attacks instead:

  • Whirling Blade. You make one attack at disadvantage that targets all creatures within a sphere around you that's range is equal to reach of the weapon used to make this attack.
  • Sweeping Strike. You make one attack at disadvantage that targets all creatures within a cone originating from your position that's range is equal to reach of the weapon used to make this attack + 5 feet.
  • Cleaving Crush. You make one attack at disadvantage that targets all creatures within a 5-foot wide line originating from your position that's length is equal to reach of the weapon used to make this attack + 5 feet. This line also effects creatures up to a number of feet above it equal to half the reach of the weapon used to make this attack (rounding down).

You do not add your Strength modifier to damage rolls made with one of these techniques. Creatures that are behind total cover cannot be hit by these special attacks.

Devastating Power

Also at the 3rd level, you gain the ability to focus all of your power into a single devastating attack in order to crush your foes. Whenever you make a melee weapon attack that deals Slashing damage, you can choose to change that damage to Bludgeoning instead. Additionally, whenever you make a melee weapon attack on your turn with a weapon that you are proficient with and you are able to make more than one attack whenever you take the Attack action that you have not yet used this turn, you can forgo any number of these attacks for the rest of the turn. If you do so, you can multiply the damage of your attack by a number equal to the number of attacks you forwent.

Kaiser Clash

At the 7th level, your strikes have become at efficient at defending yourself as they are at crushing your foes. As a reaction to you taking damage by a melee weapon attack by another creature, you can make one attack against that creature with a melee weapon you are proficient with that you are currently wielding, so long as said creature is within the weapon's range. If you do so, instead of damaging the target, you reduce the damage you would have taken by an amount equal to the damage you would have dealt instead.

If your damage exceeds the damage you would have taken, the attacking creature takes damage equal to the difference between the two numbers of the same type as your weapon. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Proficiency Bonus per Long Rest.

Gigantic Weapon Master

At the 10th level, you have learned how to use your colossal strikes to an even greater capacity, allowing you to greatly increase the potency of these maneuvers. Whenever you make a special attack with your Colossal Strikes feature, you can also choose to have said strike be imbued with one of the following effects:

  • Repelling. You can push any number of creatures you hit with this attack a number of feet away from you equal to twice your Fighter Level in a straight line.
  • Crushing. You can reduce the AC of any number of creatures you hit with this attack by a number equal to your Strength modifier until the start of your next turn.
  • Disorienting. You can reduce the speed of any number of creatures you hit with this attack by a number of feet equal to twice your Fighter Level until the start of your next turn.

Each attack can only be imbued with one of these effects at a time, and each effect can only be used once each turn. You can only use this feature up to 3 times per Short Rest.

Iron Skin

At the 15th level, your defensive capabilities have increased even farther, allowing you to stave off even the mightiest of attacks made against you. Whenever you make an attack using your Reaction, you can now also use your Devastating Power feature for that attack. However, if you do so during another creatures turn, you can only use this feature if you had at least one attack you did not make during your last turn, and the number of attacks you forgo cannot exceed the number of attacks you failed to make during you last turn.

Avatar of the Mountain

At the 18th level, your fighting prowess has reached such a point that you can now fight as though larger and more powerful than even the biggest and most powerful of giants. Whenever you make an attack against a creature as a Reaction, you can instead choose to use one of your colossal strikes. If you use your Kaiser Clash feature to make an attack against a specific creature, you can instead use one of your colossal strikes. If you do so, the attack made against the other attacking creature automatically hits, with that attack. Additionally, you can now use your Kaiser Clash feature as a reaction to another creature being hit by a melee weapon attack, so long as that creature is within a distance to you equal to the reach of your weapon.
