Emotion

These are the tenets of monks that follow the Way of the Storm.

Storm monks understand and harness the storm within themselves to bring about change in the world. Like storms themselves they never stay in one place for long. Once they have completed their work they are quick to move on to the next task always seeking those most in need of their abilities or teachings.

Unlike some orders, the Way of the Storm encourages monks to embrace and harness their emotions to as fuel for their Ki. Storm monks are often found leading rebellions, or overturning corrupt political establishments, or advising generals.

Lightning Strikes

Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you harness the power of the storm to empower your ki. Whenever you use your Flurry of Blows, you can teleport 30ft to a location you can see once before or after you make the attacks. When you do so every creature within 5ft of your starting and ending location receives lightning damage equal to your monk level. Once you use this feature you cannot use it again until you complete a short rest.

Thunderclap

At 6th level, you gain the ability to spend 3 ki points to make a thunderous clap as a bonus action. Creatures in a 30ft cone must succeed on a Constitution saving throw against your ki DC or be pushed 10ft away from you and knocked prone

Control Storm

Beginning at 11th level, you can meditate to control any non-magical storm. While meditating, you can control the rain, direction of the wind, and location of any lightning strikes within a 1000 ft radius of you. You are considered incapacitated while focusing on this meditation.

Lightning Chain

At 17th level, you gain the ability to send a massive bolt of lightning through your opponents. When you hit with an unarmed strike, you can spend 5 ki points to send a bolt of lightning into the target forcing it to make a Constitution saving throw against your Ki DC. The target receives 5d10 lightning damage, or half as much on success.

You can spend 1 or more additional ki points to cause this bolt to jump to additional creatures (one additional target for each ki point spent) as long as each additional target is within 20ft of each other up to a maximum of 5 creatures.
