Base Class: Bard
The College of Orchestral Conducting is infamous for rigidity and stalwartness, and rumors about their underhanded dealings travel throughout the other colleges. In truth, these Bards use their magic to direct the flow of music, manifesting changes in the world around them as they waive their baton. Bards of this college don't call it manipulation, they simply direct. They don't call it deceptive, they call is suggestive. The passion of their music and verse is channeled through their movements and in turn, the people around them are compelled to act in the the way they are directed to.
Set The Tempo
Your proficiency allows you to dictate the speed of battle. At level 3, gain +1 to your initiative roll, and at level 6, gain a +2 to your initiative roll.
Pace the Tempo
Additionally, you can modify your own speed to gain additional benefits. Once per short rest, you can choose one of the following effects. The effect lasts until your next short or long rest, or until you become Incapacitated.
Accelerando: Your body speeds up, granting you an additional 5ft moving speed. This affect stacks with other boosts.
Ritardando: Your body slows down. You lose 5ft of moving speed, but gain +1 to hit when attacking with a ranged weapon or spell.
Musical Direction
You can direct the flow of magic throughout the world around you with a flick of the wrist. As a Bonus Action, you can expend a use of Bardic Inspiration, rolling a Bardic Inspiration die. When you do so, choose a number of other creatures within 60 feet of yourself, up to a number equal to the roll from your Bardic Inspiration die. You cast Suggestion without expending a spell slot on those creatures, and they must make a CHA saving throw (not WIS). On a failed save, it pursues the course of action you described to the best of its ability. The suggested course of action can continue for the entire duration. If the suggested activity can be completed in a shorter time, the spell ends when the subject finishes what it was asked to do. If you or any of your companions damage the target, the spell ends. On a successful save, the spell does not go off, and the creatures may or may not be aware of the attempt (at the DM's discretion). You can only use this ability once per long rest and regain expended uses on completion of a long rest.
Command the Stage
You are able to masterfully direct your surroundings like individual instruments, plucking, prodding, strumming, and manipulating to create your own symphony.
You always have the Command spell prepared.
As a Bonus Action, you can cast Command without expending a spell slot equal to 1 + CHA modifier amount of times per long rest. If you have a baton you can cast the spell while Silenced and without a verbal component by waving the item in such a fashion that it nonverbally conducts the command. If you cast the spell while Silenced, it costs a full action instead of a bonus action.
Baton's Amity
At a certain point in your career, you gain an almost spiritual connection to your baton, keeping it forever close, and using it in every way imaginable.
At 14th level, you magically attune with your baton. This process is instant and does not require a short rest. If you do not have a baton in your possession, one magically appears after your next short rest, to which you attune to instantly. This attuned baton acts as a spell-casting focus, and spells you cast while using the baton have a +2 bonus to hit if they are enchantment or illusion spells.
If the baton becomes separated by more than 100 feet away for at least 24 hours, it becomes unattuned and a new own magically appears after your next long rest, attuning to you instantly.
