Base Class: Fighter
The young man stands before a ferocious beast, his blade still sheathed the villagers look on in horror as it closes in on its prey. With a smirk the man draws his blade and in a few lightning quick strokes, the beast falls with a thud.
The experienced veteran stands before a group of bandits. Their untrained strikes are easily dodged by the man, as he delivers blow after vicious blow, punishing each of their failed attempts on his life.
A young woman wanders into the city, her identity hidden beneath her shade. She hears of the oppression of the people in the village by the local lord. She nods to herself, knowing she has arrived at yet another town which would be better off without a master.
Far across the churning waves, beneath the rising sun, an island nation gave birth to a prolific style of swordplay. These noble warriors were sworn to their masters as their protectors, willing to give up their lives to see their duty complete. Honor or death was a common ideal for these disciplined soldiers.
A Samurai is a dexterity fighter with a number of different actions and utilizes a continuous attack point system. Each attack within the extra attack system can be used to choose different attacks, though they all consume points from their martial features.
Artful Combat, Sen Gauge, Beginner Actions
Your attack rolls with weapons and Unarmed Strikes can score a Critical Hit on a roll of 19 or 20 on the d20.
Beginning at 3rd level, you are capable of building Sen within your body. You may only hold five charges of Sen in your body at a time. At level 15, this increases to 10 charges. During battle, when you use the attack action you gain 1 charge of Sen per successful hit. If you choose to spend a stack of Sen during your action, you may not gain Sen in this way during that round.
You gain access to a number of beginner actions utilizing the Sen Gauge.
Unlike most of the samurai within the eastern lands, you have undergone rigorous training within the God of Lightning, Raiden, training within her techniques to deliver a variety of masterful blows. Even without the innate talent of lightning magic, your techniques have still been honed to a razor sharp edge. You have learned techniques for powerful blows, defensive counterattacks, and graceful movement that allows one to drift about the battlefield, much like a butterfly.
Skillful Professional, Unarmored Defense
Thanks to your athleticism, you have Advantage on Initiative rolls and Strength (Acrobatics) checks.
In addition, immediately after you score a Critical Hit, you can move up to half your Speed without provoking Opportunity Attacks.
You gain Unarmored Defense, using your dex and con as normal.
Masterful Evasion, Elite Actions
Beginning at 7th level, your instinctive agility lets you dodge out of the way of certain area effects, such as a blue dragon's lightning breath or a fireball spell. When you are subjected to an effect that allows you to make a Dexterity saving throw to take only half damage, you instead take no damage if you succeed on the saving throw, and only half damage if you fail.
You gain access to Elite Actions and some proficiencies.
Meditation/Ikishoten, Master Actions
By using bonus action Meditation for 1 full turn, the user will regain full Sen Gauge. They can also use Ikishoten, a long rest feature that automatically refreshes all Sen Gauge.
You gain access to Master Actions.
Superior Critical, Grandmaster Actions
Your attack rolls with weapons and Unarmed Strikes can now score a Critical Hit on a roll of 18–20 on the d20.
You gain access to Grandmaster Actions.
Raiden's Teachings
