Base Class: Monk
Monks who follow the Way of the Echoing Soul transcend the limits of sight, relying on heightened perception to interact with the world around them. Through intense discipline and training, they learn to perceive the subtle vibrations in the air, sound waves, and the flow of energy. These monks are not hindered by blindness; instead, they use it to sharpen their focus and attune themselves to their environment.
Starting at level 3, these monks gain blindsight, allowing them to sense creatures and objects within range without relying on vision. By striking an opponent, they can momentarily perceive their vulnerabilities, making their next attack more effective. As their training deepens, they gain the ability to release vibrational pulses, uncovering hidden enemies and dealing thunder damage through their strikes. At higher levels, they develop a resonating shield, using the vibrations to disrupt attacks and protect themselves, and ultimately gain the power to unleash a devastating wave of energy, leveling the battlefield around them.
The Way of the Echoing Soul combines combat precision with sensory mastery, making the monk a formidable force who thrives in darkness and excels in detecting unseen threats. This path emphasizes resilience, awareness, and the transformation of perceived weakness into unparalleled strength.
Level 3: Echo Sense
Your lack of sight has awakened your ability to sense the world through other means.
- Blind Awareness: You gain blindsight up to 30 feet. You can perceive creatures and objects within this range as long as they aren't behind total cover, though this doesn't allow you to see colors or visual illusions.
- Echo Strikes: When you hit a creature with an unarmed strike, you can use 1 Focus Point to sense its weak points. The next attack against that creature has advantage until the end of your next turn.

Level 6: Resonating Pulse
You can manipulate sound waves and vibrations to detect or disrupt your surroundings.
- Pulse of Awareness: As an action, you release a pulse of vibrations around you. Creatures within 60 feet of you cannot benefit from being invisible, and you detect all hidden creatures within the area for 1 minute.
- Resonating Strike: Once per turn, when you hit with an unarmed strike, you can deal an additional 1d6 thunder damage as you channel vibrations into your target. This damage increases to 2d6 at level 11 and 3d6 at level 17.
Level 11: Echo Shield
- Deflect Harm: When a creature you can sense within 30 feet makes an attack against you, you can use your reaction to impose disadvantage on the attack roll. If the attack misses, the attacker takes thunder damage equal to your Wisdom modifier.
- Harmony of Movement: You cannot be surprised, and your movement is unaffected by difficult terrain.
Level 17: Wave of Devastation
You become a living conduit of energy, releasing destructive waves of vibrations.
- Unleashed Echo: As an action, you release a devastating wave of energy in a 30-foot radius centered on you. All creatures in the area must make a Constitution saving throw (DC 8 + your Wisdom modifier + your proficiency bonus). On a failed save, they take 4d10 thunder damage and are knocked prone. On a successful save, they take half damage and remain standing.
- After using this feature, you cannot use it again until you finish a long rest.
