Base Class: Monk
Monks of the Way of the Brawler believe that might does not make right, but it is the right of the mighty to protect. To a Brawler Monk, strength is a path to helping others, not a tool for selfish gain.
Those who follow this Way of the Brawler tend to be those from crime-glutted cities, or seedy vicepits. Places where people go hungry, and the life of crime calls. Such environments breed strong and willful people.
The walkers of this way usually don leather jackets adorned with the patches and stitches of their victories, as well as their defeats.
Brawler's Grit
When you gain this subclass, you can use your Strength modifier instead of Wisdom to determine your Armor Class and Ki Save DC. In addition, you cannot use Stunning Strike. In its place, you gain Low Blow.
Low Blow When you hit a creature with an Unarmed Strike, you may spend 1 Ki Point to change all the damage done by the strike to a damage type the creature is vulnerable to. If the creature is not vulnerable to any specific damage, it becomes the least-resisted damage type instead.
At 6th level, you can add your Strength modifier in addition to your Dexterity modifier when you hit with Low Blow.
At 11th level, when you hit with Low Blow, you can cause the creature to make a Strength Save against your Ki Save or be knocked Prone.
At 17th level, when you hit with Low Blow, you score a critical hit on a roll of 19 or 20.
Bob and Weave
At 6th level, you gain the ability to predict enemy attacks, even while punching. Whenever you spend a Ki Point, you can increase your Armor Class by half your proficiency modifier, rounded down until the start of your next turn.
Path Choice
Beginning at 11th level, you can enter a special stance to prioritize your boxing style
- Infighter Stance:
- When you take this Stance, you can attack three times instead of twice whenever you use Flurry of Blows.
- You gain an additional reaction once per round. This reaction can only be used to Deflect Missiles.
- Outfighter Stance:
- When you take this stance, your reach with Unarmed Strikes increases by 5ft.
- When you hit a creature with an Unarmed Strike, you do not provoke Attacks of Opportunity from them until the start of your next turn.
Dempsey Roll
At 17th level, you gain the ability to maximize the number of attacks, sacrificing accuracy. When you take the attack action, you can make the attacks Dempsey Rolls. While attacking in this fashion, you suffer a -5 to hit, and gain 10 damage on each Unarmed Strike. When hit by a Dempsey Roll attack, the creature has Disadvantage on attacks made against any creature other than you.
Infighter Bonus:
- When in the Infighter Stance, your Dempsey Roll's additional damage increases by your Strength Modifier plus 10, instead of +10.
Outfighter Bonus:
- When in the Outfighter Stance, your reach with Unarmed Strikes increases by an additional 5ft.
