Fighter
Base Class: Fighter

"A warrior is only as good as his weapon, but a master of the forge is the true arbiter of war."

The Warlord is a fighter who wields, crafts, and modifies weapons to their full potential, ensuring that no blade, bow, or warhammer is ever just a simple tool. This warrior understands the balance of force, durability, and efficiency, not just using arms but forging and optimizing them for battle. Whether crafting new weapons, repairing battlefield armaments, or enhancing their own capabilities, the Warlord blurs the line between smith and soldier.

Bonus Proficiencies

3rd-level Warlord feature

You gain proficiency with smith’s tools, and you learn to speak, read, and write Dwarvish.

Arbiter's Craft

3rd-level Rune Knight feature

At 3rd level, you gain an innate understanding of the weapons you wield.

  • Forged for Battle: You can repair damaged weapons and armor during a short or long rest if you have access to materials (at the DM's discretion).

  • Tune Instrument of War: You can fine-tune a weapon you are proficient with, enhancing its lethality and precision. Over the course of a short rest, you can apply one of the following enhancements:

  • Sharpened Edge: Melee weapons gain a bonus to damage equal to your proficiency modifier.

  • Precision Calibration: Ranged weapons gain a bonus to hit equal to your proficiency modifier.

  • Expanded Payload: AoE weapons, such as explosives or specialized ammunition, increase their area of effect by 5 feet.

Each enhancement lasts until you modify another weapon or until you take another short rest.

Warlord’s Form

7th-level Warlord feature

  • You can cast Enlarge/Reduce on yourself, choosing to Enlarge or Reduce, while wielding a weapon you are proficient with. This does not require concentration, lasts 1 hour, and can be used a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus per long rest.

  • While enlarged, your proficient melee weapon attacks deal an additional 1d6 damage.

  • You do not suffer disadvantage on attack rolls when wielding weapons one size larger than you.

Arbiter's Forge

10th-level Warlord feature

By 10th level, your knowledge of arms and armor allows you to maintain and craft powerful equipment in even the most dire situations.

  • Field Repair & Crafting: You can repair weapons and armor over the course of a short rest, provided you have access to appropriate materials. Additionally, you can craft simple weapons, ammunition, or modify existing weapons with minor improvements (at the DM's discretion).

  • Arcane Reinforcement: Weapons you have personally crafted or repaired now count as magical.

  • Cleave Through Resistance: Your weapon attacks ignore resistance to slashing, bludgeoning, or piercing damage.

Warlord’s Judgment

15th-level Warlord's feature

At 15th level, your strikes become devastating, drawing upon your mastery of weapons and battlefield control.

  • When you score a critical hit, you roll an additional weapon damage die (this stacks with Brutal Critical if you have it).

  • When you strike a creature with resistance to your weapon’s damage type, they must make a Strength saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + Strength or Dexterity modifier).

    • On a failure, they are knocked prone or pushed 10 feet (your choice).

    • This effect can occur once per turn.

Arbiter’s Plate

18th-level warlord feature

At 18th level, you become a walking arsenal, your armor and weapons melded into your very presence on the battlefield.

  • Warlord’s Form Upgrade: When you use Warlord’s Form, you gain immunity to the first instance of exhaustion you would suffer each long rest. Additionally, you are immune to effects that would force you to make Strength saving throws.: When you use Titan’s Might, it now lasts for 4 hours instead of 1 hour.

  • Warforged Armor: While wearing armor, you gain resistance to non-magical slashing, bludgeoning, and piercing damage and cannot be disarmed.

  • Perfected Strikes: When attacking with a weapon you personally modified or repaired, you deal an additional 1d8 force damage on every hit.
