Rogue
Base Class: Rogue

A skilled professional who is not as simple as they look. A barber, chef, or even seamstress, the artisan utilizes their tools of the trade as deadly weapons. You will gain abilities useful both for helping you allies and hindering your foes.

Level 3: Level 3 - Resourceful Professional

Choose a profession, you are able to use certain tools as weapons based on your selection.

Artisan tools gain the light and finesse properties, and deal 1d4 base damage.

Barber

A professional hairdresser. A barber can use Scissors (slashing) and Razor Blades (slashing) as weapons in combat.

Chef

An expert in the kitchen, Chef's can utilize a selection of different utensils as weapons. Chef's can use Knives (piercing), Cleavers (slashing), Rolling pins (bludgeoning), and Pans (bludgeoning).

Seamstress/Haberdasher

An expert at working cloth and leather. Can use Scissors (slashing) and Needles (piercing).

Level 3: Level 3 - Customer Satisfaction

As a professional, you use your intellect for Persuasion and Deception challenges. Gain proficiency in Persuasion and Deception. (Use override in character sheet).

After providing a service or succeeding on a Persuasion or Deception challenge gain the use of the ability Happy Customer.

Targets under the effect of Happy Customer have disadvantage on Deception challenges against you and your party for the duration, and your Persuasion and Deception challenges gain advantage. Additionally, the target will provide discounts when selling or bartering with you and your party up to an amount based on a Persuasion challenge, up to a maximum of 25%. The effect ends if the target becomes hostile towards you.

Level 9: Level 9 - Professional Adaptability

Based upon your chosen profession, you gain additional abilities.

  • Your profession weapons now count as magical.
  • You gain the Poisoned blade ability.

Barber

  • You gain the Stylish Do ability.
  • You gain the Hamstring ability.

Chef

  • You gain the Hearty Feast ability.
  • You can the Flourbomb ability.

Seamstress/Haberdasher

  • You gain the Stitching Expertise ability.
  • You gain the Garrotte ability.

 

Flourbomb

As a bonus action, take a handful of spare ingredients and throw them into the eyes of your target. Target makes a Dexterity save, on a failed save the target is considered blind. Target must take an action to remove the flourbomb, or remain blind.

Garrotte

Make a dexterity acrobatics challenge to grapple the target. On a successful grapple, you wrap a reinforced wire around the targets neck, the target is considered grappled, incapacitated, and suffocating. Target must be medium size or smaller.

At the start of each of the targets turns you will make a contested grapple check. On a success, the target is no longer grappled. On a failed check, the condition continues.

After 3 consecutive failures, the target falls unconscious and can no longer contest the grapple. If the grapple is held for a total of 6 rounds, the target dies as per the suffocating condition. 

Hamstring

On a successful melee attack action, you may use your bonus action to shift to a space behind the target and attempt to slice the tendons of the target. Target must be humanoid of medium save or smaller.

Hearty Feast

Following a long or short rest, you may spend an additional hour to prepare a hearty feast for you and your companions. All who partake in the feast gain the benefits of Heroism, and gain 2d8 + proficiency bonus temporary hit points.

Stitching Expertise

During a short rest you may use your needle and thread to stitch up or repair any physical wounds. You may heal up to 8d6 hit points across your party (maximum of 20 per target) distributed at your discretion.

Stylish Do

When styling a targets hair, you can bestow on them the effects of Disguise Self. This action takes one hour and can target yourself and up to 3 other targets. Additional targets will extend the duration of the action (one hour for every 4 targets). This effect last on the target until their next long rest.

Level 17: Level 17 - Business Opportunity

You gain the sentinel feat. When making and opportunity attack with sentinel you can benefit from sneak attack and do not expend your opportunity attack as long as the attack is made with your profession related weapons.
