Base Class: Monk
Using rosary beads as a channel for their ki, monks of the rosary aid their allies and provide prepared battlefield support. These monks work best when anticipating the battles to come, as it takes time in order to channel their ki into useful forms.
Fundamental Rosaries Technique
Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you can store your ki inside sacred rosary beads. You can spend ki to create an item of any of the following effects, but the amount of ki consumed will not be recoverable until the item is refunded with the use of an action, consumed, destroyed, or lost. A bead takes 1 minute to create and consumes the listed amount of ki.
- Bead of elements (1 ki): Upon creating this bead, you choose acid, cold, fire, lightning, poison, or thunder for the type of bead you create. this can be attached to a melee weapon or an ammunition to deal an additional 3d6 damage of the chosen type. The use of this bead must be declared before the attack is rolled, and it is consumed whether the attack succeeds or fails. Alternatively, the bead can be thrown at a range of 30 ft as an improvised weapon, dealing 3d6 damage of the chosen type to the target.
- Bead of protection (1 ki): This bead can be consumed as a bonus action in order to cause the effects of the shield spell on the user until the start of their next turn
- Bead of recovery (1 ki): This bead can be consumed as a bonus action in order to heal the user for 2d6 hit points.
- Bead of cleansing (1 ki): this bead can be consumed as an action to instantly end one condition affecting the user or a willing target within melee range.
- Bead of luck (1 ki): Whenever you make an attack roll, ability check, or saving throw, you may consume this bead to roll an additional d20. You can use this ability after the original roll, but before the outcome is revealed. You choose which of the d20s is used for the attack roll, ability check, or saving throw. You can also consume the bead when an attack roll is made against you. Roll a d20, and choose whether the attacker's roll uses their d20 roll or yours.
Rosary Mastery
At 6th level, you gain the ability to master your basic rosaries. You may create a rosary bead with only a bonus action by expending an additional point of ki.
In addition, you gain a mastered rosary. Choose one rosary bead effect from your third level rosary list. You may spend 10 minutes to exchange this choice at the end of any long rest. The mastered rosary has the following properties:
- It may only be used by you.
- It has a number of charges equal to your proficiency modifier minus one, each of which can be expended in order to trigger the effect of the chosen rosary.
- if there are no charges left on the rosary, a ki point may be used instead to trigger the effect.
Sacred Rosaries
Beginning at 11th level, you have learned to create sacred rosaries, providing powerful effects at a higher cost. You may now create the following beads:
- Bead of True Strike (3 ki): This bead can be consumed as a bonus action to cause your next attack roll this turn to be treated as a 19. If a saving throw is required for your next attack or spell this turn, all saving throw rolls you choose are treated as a 2.
- Bead of Sanctuary (3 ki): This bead can be consumed as a bonus action in order to give the user invulnerability to all damage until the start of their next turn.
- Bead of Revival (3 ki): This bead can be consumed as an action to cause target individual who has died within the past minute to be revived at 1 hp.
- Bead of Purity (3 ki): This bead can be consumed as a bonus action to give the user immunity to all status effects for the next minute. The user cannot be targeted until they make an attack or cast a spell, or until the duration of the bead has passed.
- Bead of Perfection (3 ki): This bead can be consumed as a bonus action to give the user benefits related to a certain attribute. Choose one attribute, and until the end of your next turn, you gain the following effects: You have a +1 to all checks made using that attribute. You have proficiency in all skills made with that attribute. If you already have proficiency in that skill, you gain expertise.
