Base Class: Bard
Prerequisite: This is a Prestige subclass that must be earned in game or taken by a Bard who has previously reached at level 20.
The Game Master is the home of only the most powerful bards who have mastered all forms of games. They spread cheer and entertainment by adapting their games to their audience and using their magic to "encourage" others to participate. Their games are legendary, but often leave destruction in their wake.
These bards have a reputation for being tricky, cavalier, and impudent. They tend to be chaotic and prioritize fun over nearly everything else. Many view others simply as players of their games. They may struggle as a member of a team, but their overwhelming power makes them difficult to pin down. When pushed to the edge, they simply change the rules of the game.
Level 3: Bonus Proficiencies
You gain proficiency with Martial Weapons and Medium Armor. You gain Expertise with Playing Cards and Dice.
Level 3: Play With Me
You are a master of all games, particularly those enjoyed by children. As a Bonus Action on your turn, you can start a game. You and all creatures within 60 feet of you become participants in the game. The rules of the game are not revealed to participants. This game lasts for one minute or until you use a Bonus Action to activate this ability again. You can use this ability a number of times per day equal to your Proficiency Bonus and regain all expended uses on a Long Rest.
Shadow Tag. Once per turn while this game is active, when a participant hits another participant with an attack, they can instead attack the target's shadow instead of dealing damage. The target is Restrained until the start of your next turn. This attack cannot be made if the participant does not cast a shadow.
King of the Hill. Attack rolls, ability checks, and saving throw rolls are reduced for all participants by the number of allies within 30 feet of them when they make the check.
Tag. You are "it". A creature who is "it" has Disadvantage on attack rolls and saving throws and their Speed is doubled. Whenever they deal damage to another participant, that creature becomes "it".
Level 6: Fun for the Whole Family
You excel at making sure everyone gets to enjoy your games. When you cast a spell of first level or higher, you can make a number of weapon attacks equal to the level of the spell (maximum 4) as a Bonus Action.
You can use this ability a number of times equal to your Proficiency Bonus and regain all expended uses when you finish a Long Rest.
Level 6: Hide and Seek
Your repertoire of games has expanded to include Hide and Seek. You may expend a use of your Bardic Inspiration as a Reaction to become Invisible until the start of your next turn. Any creature with your Bardic Inspiration die may also expend it to do the same.
Level 14: Director's Cut
You are no longer simply need to be a participant in your games; you can instead choose to the run the game. When you start a game as a bonus action, you can name yourself the Game Master and force all creatures within 60 feet of you to make a Wisdom save against your spell save DC or become Charmed by you for 1 hour. You can immediately cast the Command spell (no action required) on a target you have Charmed and as a Bonus Action on subsequent turns. Creatures Charmed by you automatically fail the saving throw for the Command spell, but can make a Wisdom saving throw at the end of their turn to end the Charmed condition.
Once you use this ability, you cannot do so until you finish a Long Rest.
Level 14: Retcon
Sometimes even you make mistakes, but the power of the Game Master is all encompassing. As a Bonus Action, you can change the AC, Initiative roll, Ability Score, or Speed of a target you can see within 120 feet for 1 minute. You can increase the value by up to 5 or decrease it by up to 10. Initiative, Speed, and AC cannot be reduced below 0. Ability Scores cannot be reduced below 1, but can be increased above 20.
Once you use this ability, you cannot do so again until you finish a Long Rest.
