Base Class: Fighter
Weapon Virtuoso are martial prodigies who wield any weapon to utmost perfection that it becomes an extension of their bodies and souls. Not an ounce of effort is wasted in training, as they train day and night, striving to be the greatest warrior the world has ever known. They transcend ordinary combat, treating each battle as a test of skill and a step toward mastery.
Motivated by pride and a refusal to accept defeat, Weapon Virtuosos roam the world seeking greater and deadlier opponents. They refuse to bend the knee for death—they court it—all in the name of perfecting the art of war.
Bonus Tool Proficiency
When you adopt this subclass at level 3, you gain proficiency with Calligrapher's Supplies. This instills and cultivates a mindset that aims toward perfect bodily motion; from the grip of an object to the execution of the movement with the necessary flow and speed.
Deflection
At 3rd level, you ready yourself to strike at the most opportune times. When a creature makes a melee weapon attack against you, you can use your Reaction to make a melee weapon attack roll. If your attack roll equals or exceeds both the creature’s attack roll and Armor Class, the attack misses you, and you take no damage. In addition, you deal damage as if you had hit with a normal weapon attack.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Proficiency Bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a Long Rest.
Marvelous Weapons
Beginning at 7th level, you infuse your weapons with your raw fighting spirit as you wield it in combat. Whenever you deal damage with a weapon attack, it can deal your choice of Force damage or its normal damage type.
Relaxed Awareness
At 7th level, your mind is in a flow state of fixated readiness, totally aware of any dangers and enemies in your surroundings.
Initiative Bonus. You can add 1d4 to your Initiative rolls.
Equanimity. You have Advantage on saving throws against effects that give the Charmed or Frightened conditions.
Vigilance. While you are conscious, you can't gain the Surprised condition.
Peerless
Starting at 10th level, your supreme confidence in battle allows you to push through not only failure of the body, but of the blade. You gain an additional way to use your Indomitable; when you miss with a weapon attack, you can reroll the attack. If you do so, you must use the new roll.
Almighty Strike
Starting 15th level, your mastery of combat allows you to strike with such force and precision that defenses falter before your blow. Once on your Turn, when you hit a target with a weapon attack, you can reduce its Armor Class by an amount equal to half your Fighter level (rounded down). This reduction lasts until the end of your next turn.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, regaining all expended uses when you finish a Short or Long Rest.
Avoidance
Beginning at 18th level, your body and mind work in perfect harmony. When you are subjected to an effect that allows you to make a saving throw to take only half damage, you instead take no damage on a success, and only half damage on a failure.
