Warlock
Base Class: Warlock

Your patron has conquered death, and has found everlasting life, though it came at a price. They have learned the secrets of both life and death, and to them, the lifetimes of other mere mortals pass like the seasons. Beings of this sort include Vecna, Lord of the Hand and the Eye; the dread Iuz; the lich-queen Vol; the Undying Court of Aerenal; Vlaakith, lich-queen of the githyanki; and the deathless wizard Fistandantalus.

In the Realms, Undying patrons include Larloch the Shadow King, legendary master of Warlock's Crypt, and Gilgeam, the God-King of Unther.

Undying Nature

Starting at 1st level, , you can hold your breath indefinitely, and you don't require food, water, or sleep, although you still require rest to reduce exhaustion and still benefit from finishing short and long rests. You now age at a slower rate. For every 10 years that pass, your body ages only 1 year, and you are immune to being magically aged.

Additionally, you now have the Spare the Dying cantrip.

Life Force Steal

At level 6, you gain the ability to age the form of those affected by your spells. When a creature you can see rolls a saving throw for a spell you cast, you can use a reaction to steal the creature's vitality. If the creature fails the saving throw for the spell, they now have disadvantage on any save or skill check that uses the same ability (Dexterity, Strength, Wisdom, etc.) for the next minute. Additionally, for the next minute you have advantage when using that same ability for saves or skill checks. This effect ends early if you are incapacitated, or choose to end it early.

If the creature succeeded the spell save, you cannot use this ability on a spell with the same type of save as the one used for this ability for the next 24 hours. Upon successfully using this ability on a creature, you must wait until you complete a long rest to use this ability again. A creature is not affected by this ability if they are immune to being magically aged.

Magic of Vitality

Starting at 10th level, you can regain a spell slot by stealing the life of others. Upon reducing any other creature to zero hit points with a spell or cantrip, you can regain a single spell slot.

This feature can only be used once a long rest.

Defying Death

Upon reaching level 14, you gain the ability to defy death itself. Once a short or long rest, upon reaching 0 hit points, you gain 1d8 + your warlock level hit points, and any missing limbs or permanent wounds can be healed if you so choose. You heal the same amount of hit point the following 2 turns, and upon receiving this healing, you regain consciousness if you were incapacitated by reaching 0 hit points.
