Base Class: Monk
Monks who follow the Way of Floral gain power from an ancient and magical fruit, rumored to be blessed by the spirits of nature. This fruit imbues them with the extraordinary ability to sprout their limbs and other body parts on any surface, as easily as flowers bloom in spring. These monks use their unique gift to overcome obstacles, confound their enemies, and extend their reach beyond what is humanly possible. This fruit is said to taste sweet cotton candy with a bitter after taste.
By embracing the Way of Floral, these monks become masterful tacticians, using their blossoming appendages to strike foes from unexpected angles, protect allies, and manipulate their surroundings with precision. They are a living embodiment of nature’s adaptability and resilience, thriving even in the harshest conditions.
Floral Sprouts
At 3rd level, when you choose the Way of Floral, the power of the mystical fruit awakens within you, granting you the ability to sprout additional body parts on any surface like a blooming flower. You gain the following abilities:
It's up to your imagination on how you are going to use the ability as long as you follow these rules.
- The Sprout must connect to a surface that is connected to you, such as ground, trees/bush/boulder/creature connected to the same ground that you are stepping on.
- Sprouts only sprout on a solid surface and can't sprout on water, air, or other form of liquid or gas.
- You can sprout on a creature from a distance as long as you can see it, and as long as you are connected via land or water, you won't be able to sprout a limb or something on a flying creature unless they land.
Blooming Reach
As a bonus action, you can sprout limbs (arms, legs, or hands) on any surface within the Floral Reach that you can see. These sprouted limbs are extensions of your body and function identically to their natural counterparts. They can be used for unarmed strikes, grappling, interacting with objects, or other tasks requiring body parts.
- Unarmed Strikes: Attacks made with sprouted limbs use a Floral Dice: (Number of Limbs) + Proficiency Bonus for damage and count as magical for overcoming resistances and immunities.
- Grappling: You can grapple creatures with your sprouted limbs. The number of limbs you can sprout increases with your monk level (see the table below). Grappling difficulty depends on how many Limbs is used. Strength saving throw Grappling DC is 8 + number of limbs + Proficiency bonus.
Number of Limbs
The floral sprout limbs grow as you level up; they become stronger than the previous ones. Each limb can deal damage by itself or multiple limbs striking together simultaneously.
Number of Limbs: In some combinations, like grappling or a floral combo, these numbers will be followed.
- 3 limbs = 1
- 6 limbs = 2
- 9 limbs = 3
- 12 limbs = 4
- 60 limbs = 5
- Hundreds of limbs = 6
- Thousand limbs = 7
For Floral Die: Each limb deals.
- At level 3: 1d4
- At level 6: 1d6
- At level 11: 1d8
- At Level 17: 1d10
Floral Growth: Floral Sprouts can be fused to create a much bigger and stronger version of those limbs. These indicate the size difference of each sprout.
- Regular: The normal size of an arm or leg
- Medium (Fuze 3 to 12 limbs): This is slightly bigger and longer than a regular limb, more or less 5 feet tall.
- Large (Fuze up to a hundred limbs): This is a limb approximately 10 feet tall.
- Huge (Fuze up to 500 limbs): This limb is approximately 15 feet tall.
- Gargantuan (Fuze up to a thousand limbs): This limb is approximately 20 feet tall or more.
Floral Growth - Strength: This will indicate how heavy and how effectively a limb can restrain a creature or object relative to its size.
- Regular: These small-sized creatures can be effectively restrained or grappled by at least 3 regular limbs, while medium-sized creatures will need at least 6 regular limbs. These limbs can carry an equal amount of the user's weight.
- Medium: A Medium-sized limb can effectively restrain or grapple up to 2 small creatures, 1 medium creature, and 1 large creature(6+ limbs). These limbs can carry an equal to double the user's weight.
- Large: A Large-sized limb can effectively restrain or grapple up to 3 small creatures, 2 medium creatures, 1 large creature, and 1 huge creature(6+ limbs). These limbs can carry an equal to triple the user's weight.
- Huge: A Huge-sized limb can effectively restrain or grapple up to 4 small creatures, 3 medium creatures, 2 large creatures, 1 huge creature, and maybe 1 gargantuan creature(4+ limbs). These limbs can carry up to 4 times the user's weight.
- Gargantuan: A Gargantuan-sized limb can effectively restrain or grapple up to 5 small creatures, 4 medium creatures, 2 large creatures, 1 huge creature, and 1 gargantuan creature (2+ limbs). These limbs can carry up to 5 times the user's weight.
Floral Reach: This will indicate how far you can sprout your sprouted limbs and sentries.
At the level;
- 3: You can sprout limbs on any surface within 30 feet, and your sentries can be sprouted up to 250 feet.
- 6: You can sprout limbs on any surface within 60 feet, and your sentries can be sprouted up to 300 feet.
- 11: You can sprout limbs on any surface within 90 feet, and your sentries can be sprouted up to 350 feet.
- 17: You can sprout limbs on any surface within 120 feet, and your sentries can be sprouted up to 400 feet.
Floral Mobility
You can sprout legs or arms to improve your mobility. When climbing or balancing on surfaces, your movement speed is not reduced, and you have advantage on Athletics or Acrobatics checks made to maneuver difficult terrain.
- You can sprout long segmented arm from yours to create a rope for climbing, swinging or even reach something from afar.
- You can sprout a few hands on the walls to act as a ladder for everyone to climb.
- Possibilities are within your imagination. Give someone their best tickle fight or something.
The sprouted limbs disappear at the start of your next turn unless you concentrate (as if concentrating on a spell). The maximum number of sprouted limbs you can maintain simultaneously increases as you gain levels in this class:
| Monk Level | Maximum Sprouted Limbs |
|---|---|
| 3rd | Twelve Limbs |
| 6th | Sixty Limbs |
| 11th | Hundred Limbs |
| 17th | Thousand Limbs |
Floral Restrain Combo
When a creature is grappled or restrained by your sprouted limbs, as a bonus action, you can choose one of the following options to exploit their vulnerability:
-
Floral Tickle: The restrained creature is overwhelmed by a series of precise, ticklish touches from your sprouted limbs. They must make a Constitution saving throw. On a failure, they are disadvantaged on their next attack roll due to their uncontrollable laughter. If they fail this save twice, they fall prone from the intensity of their laughter. If they fail three times, they take 1d6 bludgeoning damage as the limbs constrict and restrict their breathing.
-
Floral Clutch: Your sprouted limbs twist and contort the restrained creature’s body to its breaking point. The creature must make a Strength saving throw or suffer maximum damage from your restraint, dealing 4d6 Force damage as you push their body beyond its limits. After this, the limbs disappear, leaving the creature temporarily freed but severely hurt.
-
Floral Slam: You use your sprouted limbs to slam the restrained creature against a nearby surface or into another creature that is also restrained. The creature must make a Dexterity saving throw to avoid being bludgeoned. On a failure, they take 1d8 bludgeoning damage and are forced into another creature’s space, potentially restraining them as well.
-
Floral Pound: With great force, your limbs pound down onto the creature in a relentless barrage. For 1 Ki point, you can make two additional unarmed strikes with your sprouted limbs, each dealing 1d6 bludgeoning damage. If both hits land, the creature is stunned until the end of your next turn from the overwhelming force.
- Floral Choke: The creature must make a Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, the creature is suffocated, unable to breathe as your limbs tighten around their neck. They take 2d6 bludgeoning damage at the start of their turn as long as they remain in your grasp. On a successful save, they take half the damage and do not suffer any additional effects.
Floral Techniques
These techniques are only available to those who were blessed with the ancient magical fruit. Using your sprouted limbs to attack, grapple, or restrain creatures.
Sprouts
Sprouts are not just limited to limbs; you can also sprout eyes and ears (Sentry) to spy or search the area.
- Sprouts are what those sprouted body parts are called.
- Sentry: These are sprouted eyes and/or ears effective for surveillance in a massive area. You can sprout Sentry on any surface for up to a 500 ft radius centered on you for 1 minute.
- Using this method of searching grants advantage on Perception (WIS) and Investigation (INT) checks, but can't take other action or movement while scouting or maintaining sprouting eyes and ears to effectively surveil the entire area.
- You can get an advantage in Stealth (DEX) for a well-explained position on where you place this Sentry.
- Sprouts are not limited to the ground; you can also grow them on creatures. This also represents how many limbs can be used to effectively restrain/grapple a target. The creature will have Disadvantage on saving throws if they are being restrained or grappled by more than the number of limbs it can handle. (Ex. A small creature being grappled by 6 or more limbs will have disadvantage on its saving throw rolls.) See the list on Floral Growth - Strength.
Floral Bloom
At 6th level, your bond with the magical floral fruit allows you to sprout a multitude of limbs, granting unparalleled flexibility and control over the battlefield. Your abilities are now suited for crowd control, letting you overwhelm groups of enemies with a flurry of strikes or restrain multiple foes with ease. You gain the following benefits:
Floral Growth & Strength: You can now sprout your limbs merged to create up to a medium-sized limb.
Floral Flexibility
With your extended range you manage to utilize this to your great advantage.
- You increase your speed by +5ft.
- Sprouts Eye and/or Ears of Utility Sprouts range now increases +100ft.
Multi-Limb Mastery
You can now unleash a flurry of strikes on multiple foes, using your sprouted limbs to dominate the battlefield.
- When you take the Flurry of Blows action, you can target up to four creatures instead of two, as long as they are within your reach or your sprouted limbs.
- Each target must succeed on a Strength saving throw against your Floral Sprout DC or be knocked prone, making them vulnerable to further attacks.
Floral Blooming Ascent
At 11th level, your mastery of the Way of Floral allows you to sprout larger and more powerful versions of your limbs, concentrating and controlling up to hundreds of them at once. These enhanced sprouts grant you incredible strength, versatility, and control in combat and beyond.
Floral Growth & Strength: You can now sprout your limbs merged to create up to a Huge-sized limb.
Grand Floral Blossom
At 17th level, you achieve mastery over the Way of Floral, allowing you to create gigantic hands made of hundreds to thousands of sprouted limbs. These colossal constructs can crush enemies, block massive attacks, or manipulate the environment on an overwhelming scale.
Floral Growth & Strength: You can now sprout your limbs merged to create up to a Gargantuan-sized limb.
Giant Floral Body
You gain the ability to transform into a giant version of your body. Enemies will prioritize attacking this giant sprout over attacking you directly. This floral body is 20 feet in diameter and 40 feet tall, has the same AC as yours, and it has 500 HP and sprouts 6 to 8 long, large limbs, each with a diameter of 10 feet or more and reaching up to 120 feet in length. Each of these limbs is used to grapple, attack, or interact with objects. This transformation lasts for 1 minute, when HP reaches 0, or is dispelled manually.
- This Giant version of Body Flora can only be sprouted once per long rest.
- 8 Sprouted limbs only appear when entering combat around your giant body. Each limb only has one action, the same as you. (If you can do an attack action 2 times per turn, so as each of the limbs.)
- Your giant body can use the large and giant versions of your attacks, but you can only use the 8 limbs present; you cannot sprout more.
This has 2 stronger variations that you can use: the Demon Floral Body and Angel Floral Body.
Angel Floral Body
This Floral body appears to be a bright, rosy-skinned angel with fluffy angelic wings; its entire body is radiating with calming, dim light.
- Angelic Purity: This angelic form is blessed by pure light. Attacks using this form will deal an additional 1d10 radiant damage. Creatures grappled/restrained by the angel will take 1d10 radiant damage at the start of their turn, and you glow 15 feet of dim light.
- Angelic Wings: Grants you the ability to fly for the entire duration of the transformation.
- Angelic Presence: Each hostile creature within 30 feet of the demon must make a WIS save or be frightened for 1 minute.
Unique Attack
Angelic Embrace: Using the 8 Angelic Limbs to wrap around the creature and pull them in a sweet, calming embrace. Making them refuse to fight and just rest at ease. That creature needs to make a STR save (DC: 10 + Number of Angelic Limbs) to try to resist being grappled in an embrace. On a failed save, that creature will take 9d12 radiant damage, cleansing the body from the inside out, making them regret their actions and change ways. On a save, they will take half the damage and may reconsider surrendering. After using Angelic Embrace, you will revert to the original size and look, also gaining 1 level of exhaustion for pushing yourself to the limit.
Demon Floral Body
This Floral body appears to be a bright hellish red-skinned demon with crimson demonic wings; its entire body and the sprouted limbs are steaming in heat.
- Brinestone Skin: The demon skin is burning to the touch. Attacks using this form will deal an additional 1d10 fire or necrotic damage. Creatures grappled/restrained by the demon will take 1d10 fire or necrotic damage at the start of their turn.
- Demonic Wings: Grants you the ability to fly for the entire duration of the transformation.
- Demonic Presence: Each creature within 30 feet of the demon must make a WIS save or be frightened for 1 minute.
Unique Attack
Grand Jacuzzi: Using the 8 limbs to restrain a creature, locking their body in place, rendering them unable to move or take action, then snapping their body in half with absolute strength and dexterity, dealing devastating damage to the creature's body. That creature needs to make a STR save (DC: 10 + Number of Demon Limbs) to try to resist being grappled and snapped. On a failed save, that creature will take 10d12 necrotic damage, snapping their spine in half, paralizing their lower half. On a success, they take half the damage and are not paralyzed. After using Grand Jakuzzi, you will revert to the original size and look, and you have 2 levels of exhaustion from the transformation and rage, which strains the body.
