Base Class: Wizard
Wizards who study Arcane smithing spend their time studying and mastering a weapon’s structure, and create it using the weave and your mana. You may not be able to wield the weapon like a master swordsman would, but you can most definitely master the weave and through that you can smith an arcane copy of a weapon.
Will of the Forge
When you choose this specialization at class level 2
- you have proficiency in smith’s tool and 1 other tool.
- You know a cantrip to help with your specialization: Choose either Mending or Prestidigitation
Forging Mastery
You have forging mastery weapons you are proficient with, This feature will allow you to use other features of this subclass on simple weapons.
This feature will also allow you to perfectly know details based on your mastered weapons. Its design, structure, quality, even known historical facts about the weapon.
- If you roll an investigation or history check related to any of the weapons you mastered, add your proficiency bonus if it doesn't have it yet.
Additionally, if you gain proficiency with any weapon through non-magical means (not by spell or class feature like hexblade's hex warrior) you automatically gain forging mastery of that specific weapon/s.
Arcane Forging
As a bonus action, you can channel magical energy into a weapon you understand:
- Create Arcane Weapons. Choose a weapon with which you have forging mastery. You create a spectral version of that weapon in an unoccupied space within 5 feet of you. The weapon lasts for up to 1 minute, until you lose concentration (as if concentrating on a spell), or until you use this feature again.
- Molding Magic. Alternatively, you can touch an attuned magic weapon you have forging mastery with and create an arcane copy of it. If the original weapon has magical effects, only one conjured weapon gains those properties, though you choose which one.
The weapons created this way hover in the air and occupy your space. They move with you as you move and cannot leave your space unless a feature specifically allows it
When you use a 2nd level spell slot or higher, an extra weapon is created by this feature for each spell slot level used.
Temper Strike
As an action, you command all the weapons created by the Arcane Forging feature and will do one of the following feature
-
Blade Drop - Make a melee spell attack roll against a target within 5 feet of you. On a hit, the target takes damage equal to the weapon’s normal damage die and damage type.
-
Yeet-hau - Make a range spell attack roll against a target within 30 feet of you. On a hit, the target takes damage equal to the weapon’s normal damage die and damage type.
Bonuses such as +1 or +2 are applied to all weapons created by the Arcane Forging Feature. Extra effects and Extra damage can only be applied on one weapon(This limit goes up at higher levels).Versatile weapon takes the lowest die.
Tempered Soul
- Tempered Craftsman - Mending doubles its effects on objects, items, or Construct. Nonmagical trinkets or an illusory image made using Prestidigitation can be 1 foot in size.
- Tempered Forge - A number of created weapons you create with your Arcane Forging feature can now inherit magical properties of the original weapon is equal to half the arcane smith’s level (rounded down).
