Base Class: Fighter
The Spearforged are warriors who devote themselves to mastering the art and mythos of the spear. Each weapon they forge carries a fragment of divine essence, resonating with their spirit. In battle, they channel that essence — turning crafted steel into living legend.
Forge of Legend
Level 3 - Forge of Legends
When you choose this archetype, you learn to forge spears imbued with divine resonance.
- You gain proficiency with Smith’s tools if you don’t already have it.
- Over a short or long rest, you can create a magical spear that becomes your bonded weapon. It can be a replica of any you’ve seen or learned about.
- While wielding this weapon:
- You gain a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls.
- The weapon counts as magical.
- You can choose one of the following infusions when forging or during a long rest:
- Luminous Spear - deals Radiant damage
- Abyssal Spear - deals Necrotic damage
- Tempest Spear - adds +5 reach and deals Thunder damage once per turn.
Divine Thrust
You learn to unleash devastating spear techniques that embody the essence of the legends you study.
- Heavenpiercer- When you take the Attack action with your spear, you can spend a Divine Thrust as part of one of your attacks. The attack crits on a roll of 19-20 and ignores resistance to piercing damage.
- Spear Ward - When a creature you can see targets you with a ranged weapon attack or a magical ranged attack, you can use your reaction, spending one Divine Thrust charge, to deflect it:
- Roll 1d10 + your strength or intelligence modifier (your choice)
- Nonmagical ranged attack: The projectile is deflected harmlessly and you may choose to catch it and throw it back at the creature.
- Magical ranged attack: The projectile is deflected and you may throw your spear as part of the reaction.
You can use these features a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus per long rest.
Mythic Resonance
Your bond with your forged spear deepens. You can now craft and maintain two Spears bonded with different infusions each.
Additionally, once per turn when you hit with a spear attack, you can cause your weapon to emit a resonant shockwave, dealing extra damage equal to your Intelligence Modifier.
Spear Dance of the Divine
You move like a storm of steel and light. When you take the Attack action with a spear, you can throw the spear as a bonus action, the spear returns to your hand whether the attack hits or misses.
Additionally Opportunity attacks against you are made with disadvantage.
Spear of The Last Dawn
Your mastery of the forge, the spear, and the divine essence within both reaches its peak. Once per long rest, as a bonus action, you awaken your spear’s true form for 1 minute. During this time, you gain the following benefits:
- Divine Precision - Your spear attacks deal an additional 3d8 damage of the infusion it had or force damage (your choice when you activate the feature) and your attacks crit on rolls of 18-20.
- Divine Mark - When you hit a creature with your spear, you may brand it with a glowing seal of your choosing. The mark lasts until the creature dies or until you brand another creature. If a creature bearing your mark dies, you regain one use of your Divine Thrust.
- Heavenpiercer Throw - You can throw your spear as a ranged attack (60 ft/120ft). On impact, the spear explodes.
- Each creature in a 20 ft radius of the target must make a Dexterity Saving Throw (DC = 8 + Proficiency bonus + Intelligence Modifier). On a failed save, creatures take 6d8 damage of the same type as your Divine Precision damage; on a success, they take half as much.
- After resolving the explosion, your spear instantly returns to your hand.
- Undying Will - If you fall to 0 HP while Spear of the Last Dawn is active, you may remain conscious until the end of your next turn. You can still act normally and attacks you make are with advantage. At the end of the turn you collapse with one failed death saving throw.
