Base Class: Bard
Bards of the College of the Starlit Stage dazzle the world as beloved performers — but their concerts are far more than mere entertainment. Their music is a weapon, their rhythm a shield, and their voices a barrier between realms. To the crowds, they are idols. To the shadows, they are hunters who unite the hearts of many into power strong enough to banish demons forever.
Special Rules: Group Performances
Your subclass is designed for collaboration.
Group Harmonic Resonance
If three or more allies sing, play music, or otherwise perform with you (no matter their class), the Harmonic Barrier strengthens:
- Allies gain resistance to all damage from fiends.
- Soulblades summoned during the performance deal +1d8 damage.
- Bardic Inspiration dice granted during the performance become one size larger (d6 → d8, etc.) for the duration of the barrier.
Golden Harmonic Shield (Legendary Effect)
If your performance unites people across the entire Material Plane — a world-spanning concert that brings countless souls into harmony — the Harmonic Shield manifests in its purest form. The Golden Harmonic Shield rises, shining as eternal light, sealing all demonic passageways and banishing the fiendish threat forever.
(This effect is narrative, world-changing, and DM-dependent — representing the ultimate victory condition for your campaign.)
Soul Resonance
3rd Level Feature
You channel the spirits of your fans into weapons of light and sound.
-
Soulblade. As a bonus action, you can summon a glowing weapon of pure resonance (such as a microphone-spear, ribbon of light, or guitar-sword). It deals 1d8 force damage and uses your Charisma modifier for attack and damage rolls. This damage increases to 2d8 at 10th level and 3d8 at 17th level. The Soulblade vanishes if it leaves your hand.
- Soulful Performance. You are a well-known performer, and everyone who sees or hears you perform loves you, thanks to your great personality. You gain Advantage on Performance (CHA) and Persuasion (CHA) checks when performing for a crowd or talking to your fans.
-
Inspiration Strike. When you expend a Bardic Inspiration, your Soulblade flares with radiant energy, dealing an additional 1d6 radiant damage on your next hit.
Demon Hunter's Training
Your secret duty shapes your skills. You gain proficiency in the Religion and Insight skill, and in one martial weapon of your choice.
Unshaken Spirit:
Years of relentless training and performances under divine pressure have hardened your soul — you cannot be charmed or frightened, especially by fiends.
Harmonic Barrier
6th Level Feature
Your performances create protective shields that repel fiends.
-
While or after a performance lasting at least 10 minutes (such as a concert or rally), you generate a Harmonic Shield within 30 feet of you. The shield lasts for 1 hour and grants:
-
Resistance to necrotic damage.
-
Giving you and everyone you choose an Advantage on saving throws against being charmed or frightened by fiends.
-
Fiends cannot teleport into or out of the barrier or cross into the Material Plane within its area.
- Every time you use Bardic Inspiration while there's an active Harmonic Barrier, the shield's duration extends for an additional 1 hour.
-
Encore of Exorcism
14th Level Feature
Your music banishes corruption outright.
-
Once per long rest, you can perform a Starlit Finale (taking 1 minute). At the end, all fiends within 60 feet must make a Charisma saving throw against your spell save DC.
-
On a failure: they take 6d8 radiant damage and are banished back to their home plane.
-
On a success: they take half damage and are stunned until the end of their next turn.
-
-
After using this feature, you and all allies who witnessed the performance gain temporary hit points equal to your Bard level + Charisma modifier. The existing Harmonic Barrier strengthens and expands by 60 feet, lasting for 12 hours every time you perform.
