Base Class: Monk
In the northern parts of Tavanath, just south of the Dragonback Mountains is the Sky Temple of Zagos. Here, monks, clerics and barbarians train in worship of the Stormbringer, the brother of Zendor. As one that seeks to connect to Zagos through the martial arts, you have dedicated your life to mastering the self through the storm, to become the fastest and deadliest combatant the world has ever known.
Lightning Deflection
Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you can use your lightning fast reflexes to charge missiles shot at you with lightning energy when you catch them.
Whenever you successfully reduce the damage of a ranged attack against you to zero using your Deflect Missiles ability, you can spend an additional ki point to add that amount of damage to the ranged attack you would make with that missile. This extra damage deals lightning damage equal to the amount you reduced.
Sky Meditation
Starting at level 3, when you follow this path, you become attuned to the powers of the sky. In your studies you learned the language of the Primordials and you can always tell if a storm is coming, how severe it will be and how long it will last.
Static Stun
At 6th level, you learn how to channel the power of the storms into your blows, causing extra damage as you stun your enemies.
Whenever you successfully land a Stunning Strike on an enemy, you can spend an additional ki point to deal 1d8+1 lightning damage to that enemy as you strike them. The lightning damage increases to 2d8+2 at 11th level and 3d8+3 at 17th level. This damage does not occur if the target succeeds the Constitution saving throw needed to avoid the Stunning Strike.
Storm Conduit
At 11th level, you gain the ability to perform more advanced ki features using your connection to heavenly storms.
Whenever you spend a ki point to perform a ki feature, you can choose to spend an addition ki point to supercharge it. This changes the effect of the feature to the following:
Thunderclap
You can spend an addition ki point after you activate Flurry of Blows to perform a Thunderclap. If you do, the damage you deal becomes thunder damage and if the target is Large in size or smaller, it must make a Dexterity saving throw or be pushed backwards by 10 feet. If the target's saving throw value is less than 8, it also gets knocked prone.
Lightning Reflexes
You can spend an addition ki point after you activate Patient Defense to use your Lightning Reflexes when you Dodge. When you do, if you successfully perform the Dodge action thanks to your Patient Defense, you create a sonic boom that deals 1d6 thunder damage to all targets within a 10 foot sphere.
Dashing Strike
When you spend a ki point to perform Step of the Wind, you can spend another ki point afterwards to perform a Dashing Strike. If you do, you travel at lightning speed and all targets within 5 feet of you must make a Dexterity saving throw or take 2d8+1 lightning damage as you move. You can pass through living beings as you do this, but not through solid objects that are at least 5 feet thick.
Lightning Fall
When you spend a ki point to perform Slow Fall, you can spend another ki point afterwards to perform a Lighting Fall. If you do, you travel at lightning speed downwards and when you land, all targets within 15 feet of you must make a Dexterity saving throw or take 3d8+2 lightning damage as you land (You do not suffer falling damage when you land). You need to be falling from at least 25 feet to use this feature.
Soul of Storms
After you spend a ki point to activate Diamond Soul, you can spend another 2 ki points to activate your Soul of Storms. If you do, you can reroll a saving throw up to three times. Afterwards you will suffer a point of exhaustion regardless of the result.
Storm Cloud
When you spend ki points to perform Empty Body, you can spend double those ki points to become a Storm Cloud. You become a 20-foot-radius sphere of whirling air and gain 30 feet of flying speed for 1 minute. Each creature in the sphere when it appears or that ends its turn there must succeed on a Strength saving throw or take 2d6 bludgeoning damage. The sphere’s space is difficult terrain.
Until the spell ends, you can spend 1 ki point on each of your turns to cause a bolt of lightning to leap from the center of the sphere toward one creature you choose within 60 feet of the center. Make a ranged spell attack. You have advantage on the attack roll if the target is in the sphere. On a hit, the target takes 4d6 lightning damage.
Creatures within 30 feet of the sphere have disadvantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks made to listen.
Living Lightning
At 17th level, you can become the living embodiment of lightning.
When you make a melee attack, you can choose to make a melee attack at a maximum range of 30 feet. If you do, you are teleported to your target to perform the attack. If the attack is successful, you can perform the same attack against a different target within 30 feet (you teleport to the new target and do not need to roll for the attack). This ability triggers as many times as there are targets within range.
