Base Class: Paladin
Oath of the Shadow Sacrifice paladins value the life of others more than themselves. Worshipping the Scion of Darkness or any other benevolent god of the dark, they strive too keep the balance of light and dark and realize that both have a place in this world. They swear to protect the things most important in life at any cost. Any force that threatens this life is cut down with no mercy.
Tenants of the Dark Protector
Defend: Protect those who cannot protect themselves
Beacon: Be a beacon of justice. Show everyone that the dark is not to be feared
Sacrifice: Be the shield between evil and the innocent, even if it comes to sacrificing yourself for the lives of others.
Steadfast: Do not become corrupted by the powers of the dark.
Channel Divinity
At 3rd level you harness the darkness inside to gain the following channel Divinity options
Shadow Ward: As an action, Grant a Shadow ward on any willing creature within 30ft of you. For 1 minute, all damage directed at the creature is instead directed at you at half damage.
Dark Guardian: If you have used a Channel Divinity slot, you can also use a reaction to take full damage from the attack targeted at a teammate within 5 ft of you. This does not cost a Channel Divinity slot.
Dark Bulwark: Shield up to 2 creatures, not including yourself, with darkness. Until the start of your next turn, all attacks made against these creatures are made with disadvantage
Oath Spells
You gain oath spells at the Paladin levels listed
3rd Level- Bane, Hellish Rebuke
5th level- Warding Bond, Nystul's Magic Aura
9th. Bestow Curse, Life Transference
13th- Death Ward, Shadow of Moil
17th- Enervation, Contagion
Aura of the Moon
Starting at 7th level, you're body emanates an aura while you are not incapacitated. All allies within 10ft of you take reduced damage equal to your Constitution modifier (Minimum 1) from any non-magical damage taken
At 18th level, range extends to 30ft
Blessings of the Veil
At 15th level, you use the shadows to fortify your armor and weapon. you gain a +2 AC bonus as well as a regeneration bonus of 1d8 at the beginning of each of your turn for 1 minute. You also gain an extra 1d8 necrotic damage on every melee attack you deal. This ability can be used once per long rest.
Warden of Death
At 20th level, you learn to channel the powers of dark at all times. You constantly emanate an aura around you. When an ally within 30ft of you falls at or below 20% max hp, they gain resistance to all physical damage. Additionally, you may sacrifice your life force to bring an ally back to their feet. If an ally within 30ft of you falls unconscious, you can use your reaction to immediately revive your ally and heal them to full health, with the cost of half of your current hp. Can only be used once per long rest.
Damage taken from Dark Guardian is halved
