Base Class: Warlock
The Raven watches over the mortal planes anticipating every living beings death, she doesn't cause that death per-say but she ushers the souls that died to their final places. Every once in a while she pulls a soul aside and returns it to life for reasons only known to her. Her reach of power is limited beyond the Shadowfell but is very powerful when she does. Often times Warlocks will be visited by a Raven either sent from the queen her self because she saw fit or because she was beckoned. Unlike other Patrons that warlocks deal with the Raven demands Fealty to her Offering them a place among her ranks in the after life. She communicates with her servants either through Visions, Dreams, Whispers, or a Raven. The Queen is very active with her patrons, but not all warlocks are accepted. Many come to her begging for the power of the Shadowfell and many are turned away, often times become Hexblade warlocks.
The Queen gives power to those freely she see's fit, but a price is paid to her especially the more power she grants her followers. She uses the warlocks to ensure the fates of the ones to die pass, and often times they are sent to end ones life that has cheated it. With a burning hatred for the Undead and especially Intelligent Undead, she expects her followers to strike them down or die trying. A warlock would be wary of striking a barging and pact with this unearthly power, She demands a great deal, but offers unfathomable knowledge and power.

Bonus Cantrips
At 1st level, you learn the Spare The Dying and Toll the Dead cantrips. They count as warlock cantrips for you, but they don’t count against your number of cantrips known.
Ravens Watch
At 1st level, The Raven Queen herself has bestowed upon you a Raven to watch over you. The Raven is sent to aid and protect her Warlocks.
You share a telepathic link with the Raven, sharing its Vision and Hearing only. The link is good up to 1200 feet, while using this feature the Warlock is Blinded and Deafen. you are unable to respond to the world around you. When Perched on your shoulder the Raven bestows Darkvision upon the warlock up to 30 feet, if the warlock already has Darkvision naturally, he then extends the range by 30 feet instead.
So long as the Raven is with in 100 Feet of you, it can warn you as a bonus action. The raven does not sleep, there fore the raven can act as a look out for the warlock.
The Raven has the stats of a standard Raven, it can provide Aid to you or an ally in combat.
If you die or fall unconscious, or you are further than 2 miles from each other the raven vanishes. You may summon the raven again after a long rest. If the Raven Dies you may summon him again after the next Sunset. When it is summoned as a bonus action it appears 5 feet from you.
Murder of Ravens
Starting at 6th level, your link to The Raven Queen, grows stronger. She now gives you the ability to bring forth her messengers in your aid. You can now manifest Ravens from the Shadowfell, they deal 2D6 + CHA that target 1 target. This is a standard action and can be done 2 Times a day , you get this back after a short rest. You may summon them up to 15 feet from you. The ravens occupy the same Square as the target and dissipate after their attack, back into the Shadowfell
At 20th Level you gain this ability 3 times a day.
Ravens fortitude
Starting at 10th level, you gain temporary hit points whenever you finish a short or long rest. These temporary hit points equal your warlock level + your Charisma modifier. Additionally, you gain Resistance to Necrotic Damage. You also gain advantage on Death Saving throws.
Judgement of the Queen
Starting at 14th level, The Raven Queen has now made a strong connection with you and has bestowed the ability to usher and control Souls to your will. Once per a day you may cast Soul Cage adding your Cha Mod to the amount healed. This is considered an At will spell and requires no Verbal, Somatic, or components.
"you learn the Spare The Dying and Toll the Dead cantrips" this does not actually add these cantrips to your spell list
That's fair. Glad you appreciate the feedback anyway.
Probably not dnd beyond aren't 100% friendly to customize sub class they have rules and what not. So you will have to modify or write in the spells unfortunately, sorry for the inconvenience
Thank you very much
Well there is the problem of balance. Yes the temporary hit points may not be massive but can be the difference between death and staying up. Also this is a free apication with out icons a spell slot. Works are also generally not taking a lot of damage especially this sub class. But I digress
The necrotic damage resistance may be niche but there is a lot of sub classes that gain niche things....so h as assign Rouges that must get surprise and yet your common game while not see that 95% of the time.
All in all I am glad you like the class, and I think k it is great you feel the need to want to change it, and it turns out you can change it if you like. But I won't be changing the base of the sub class.
Thanks for the feed back I appreciate all feedback
Ok, so this is great. One thing though, the Raven's Fortitude is bad. Here's why: The temporary hit points aren't going to last more than one hit at that level. At most it's 15, which isn't bad but it's not great. The resistance to Necrotic damage is cool but it is niche, as Necrotic damage isn't that common. The advantage on death saves is nice though. I'd change the temporary hit points to maybe either level + CHA mod + Proficiency bonus or level + CHA mod*2.
I honestly like this more than the original Raven Queen Patron. Well done!
Is it me or are the bonus cantrips not being added onto your spell list?
To make mention of two things here.
1.Not every Warlock spams Eldritch Blast Blast every round, nothing wrong with it but believe it or not there are a lot of players that never take Eldritch Blast instead take other things.
2. The most important thing that you are missing, and it is the most important. Yes Murder of Crows(MoC) only deals 2d6 and you can only do it twice a day up till level 20 then you can do it 3 times a day. But the main point your missing is Eldritch Blast Requires a To Hit Roll, meaning you can miss and deal no damage. Whereas Murder of Crows is a free 6 damage that can not be blocked nor can it miss, which is only 4 damage less on the average damage of both.
So no MoC is not obsolete, it is another tool that you can use that is guaranteed damage.
I hope this helps you realize your over sight and I want to thank you for pointing out something you felt was useless, I hope this helps you and other people that may think the same thing.
that is on part of DND beyond, as of right now any spell not in the basic of PHB can't be added to the homebrews and be published. So until they allow spells from other source books that is what you will have to do is add them your self
It looks like I do not have access to add the spells listed in the Expanded Spell List to my Spells, which is confusing if I am adding them manually.
(The Spare the Dying and Toll the Dead cantrips also apply to this issue, but I see there should be a fix for Spare the Dying but not for Toll the Dead? Both are Cleric cantrips from the Basic spell lists, so I feel this is related, but I do not create homebrews myself, so I'm not sure how to add these multiple cleric spells/cantrips to my Warlock spell list.)
Murder of ravens isn't all that great. I feel it's just more of a flair kind of thing. Starting at lvl 5 when eldrich blast does 2d10, murder is obsolete.
It's not a purchasable subclass, you just add it to your homebrew content
How did you even add it as a subclass? I can't find it anywhere (I know you have to purchase it but I can't even locate it in the marketplace)
I will go back and look at it, Spare the dying should be accessible but unfortunately Toll the Dead is something you will just have to write in, the way DnD Beyond has their format set up you can not include anything that isn't in Basic or Players handbook. If you do it will kick it back and not allow it to be published. I think that is why I have it the way it is. If I remember correctly both spells kicked it back.
So short answer is it is out of my hands for right now till DND Beyond fixes it
Hey,
I notice that when I create a character with this subclass that it does not add the cantrips Spare the Dying and Toll of the Dead to my spell List. Is there a way to correct this?
