Ranger
Base Class: Ranger

A grizzled half elven man crouches on his perch, thirty five feet up an ancient red oak, his aging fingers grip the arrow and bowstring that he draws back with the strength of endless repetition. His eyes do not narrow or squint while he stares down the shaft of his arrow, directly in line with the leader of a bandit clan. A deep breath in and a steady exhale are the only signs he gives before the arrow is loosed from the longbow and buried into the bandit leaders chest. Three more arrows follow the first, dropping the men who had stood around their leader seconds before.

The average archer practices until he or she gets it right, a Araluen Ranger practices until he or she never gets it wrong. The Araluen Ranger is a master of both ranged combat and unseen movement. Years of practice with the long bow have honed your skills to perfection. The Araluen Ranges cloak of molted greens, browns, and greys may not be the prettiest thing but it is perfect for moving unseen among the forests, fields, and marshes. As infamous the Araluen Rangers deadly skill with a bow is, their lesser known yet equally impressive skills with the saxe knife is often the end of any who believe an Araluen Ranger to be defenseless once their bow is shouldered.

Rapid Shooting

This ability increases to 2 extra shots at level 15. This attack does not add your ability score to the damage.

Killer Placement

At 11th level. After years of training, you can pinpoint your atacks to the most vital parts of your target. Whenever you make a ranged attack with a longbow within in 150ft you use a d12 damage die instead of a d8 damage die. Past 150ft you use a d8 damage die as normal.

Studious Observer

At 15th level. If you spend at least 1 minute observing or interacting with another creature outside combat, you can learn certain information about its capabilities compared to your own. If you pass an insight check with a DC decided upon by the DM, the DM may tell you if the creature is your equal, superior, or inferior in regard to 3 of the following characteristics of your choice:

• Strength score • Dexterity score • Constitution score • Armour Class • Current hit points • Total class levels, if any (Also if the creature has more than one type of class level you get to know one of the types. For example, a creature has 2 levels in Fighter and 4 in Wizard. The player gets to know that the creature is 6th level and has some amount of Fighter levels)
