Monks that follow the Way of the Shield are few and far between. They are warriors of mind and body, the most powerful of whom can bring the most powerful of does to there knees with a single blow, and the weakest of them are still quite powerful.
Shield Bash
you gain proficiency with shields. your shield counts as a monk weapon and you still get your unarmored defense, but your shield bonus doesn't count towards your AC. while you are holding a shield, you gain the following attack option: Shield Bash. reach 5 feet. on hit: 1d6 Bludgeoning damage and must make a dexterity check contested by your dexterity if it is your size or smaller. on a fail, target is pushed 5 feet away from you. or, instead of damage, you can chose to have the target make a dexterity check contested by your dexterity. on a fail, target falls prone.
The damage increases as you go up in levels: it increases to 1d8 at 5th level, 1d10 at 10th level, 1d12 at 15th level, and 2d8 at 20th level.
Throw Shield
At 6th level, you can treat your shield as a thrown weapon with a range of 30/60. The shield throw deals the same amount of damage as a shield bash. Instead of damage, you can use a shield throw to try and trip your target. on a hit, they must make a dexterity saving throw or be knocked prone. When you reach 6th level, you chose 2 of the following options.
1.you can spend 1 Ki point to have your shield return to your hand by bouncing off of the target.
2.you can spend 2 or more Ki points to have your shield bounce off your first target to hit another target within 10 feet of the first target. you can then do this again by spending 2 additional Ki points. make a separate attack for each target. after the attacks, the shield returns to your hand.
3.you can spend 2 Ki points to ricochet your shield off a nearby surface before hitting your intended target and treat that surface as the origin square of the attack to determine whether the target is flanked and whether the target gains a cover bonus to its AC.
4.you can spend 4 Ki points to empower your shield with the elements. chose 1 type: fire, cold, lightning, or radiant. Until the end of your turn, your shield does an extra 1d4 damage of the chosen type.
When you make a shield throw attack, you can activate one of the options you picked.

During this time, you cannot make attacks. Additionally, your shield's AC bonus applies to your unarmored defense, unless you threw your shield that round or made a shield bash attack, and your shield counts as an unarmed strike. At 18th level, the AC bonus increases to 2d6, and you can use it an unlimited amount of times.
