Base Class: Monk
Patient Mountain teaches those monks blessed with more of a rugged build than their fellow martial artists to lean into that hardiness, turning away blows that would kill lesser fighters. The Patient Mountain is forceful, unyielding, tireless, and above all, strong. With the added frost coalescing around their fists, and the ability to send an echoing thunderclap, they supplement their great strength with varied ranged attacks and an overpowering style that aims to beat down, ground and pound their enemies back to the dust whence they came.
Sturdy Mountain Stance
Starting at 3rd level, you fully learn the Sturdy Mountain Stance, a way of defense in combat and of projecting your ki into the strength of your body to multiply its output beyond simply being strong.
Boulder Strength - You learn to augment your body's strength with ki, counting as one size larger when determining your carrying capacity and the weight you can push, drag, or lift. Additionally, when you spend a ki point to use step of the wind, you gain advantage on all athletics checks, and your shove moves enemies up to 15 feet instead of the normal 5ft
Patient Mountain Defense - You gain the ability to absorb blows with the surefooted stance of the Mountain. When you spend a ki point to use Patient Defense, you gain resistance to non-magical bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage for the duration of the dodge. In addition, you always have advantage against any save which would move you involuntarily.
Crushing Echo - You learn the Thunderclap cantrip, and use Strength as your spellcasting ability for it. Additionally, you can spend a ki point to cast it centered anywhere within 60 feet of you.
Fist of Avalanche
At 6th level, you learn to channel the rushing force of an avalanche behind your blows. You channel columns of air and frost into your strikes, extending reach with your unarmed strikes to 10 feet, and dealing your choice of bludgeoning or cold damage. If you spend 1 ki point when the extended attack hits, it also deals an extra 1d10 cold damage.
You can spend 2 ki points to use your action strike a creature up to 30 feet away with a full avalanche of frost and fury. If your attack hits, that creature takes 3d10 bludgeoning or cold damage plus your strength modifier, and must succeed on a strength saving throw or be pushed up to 20 feet away from you and prone. On a successful save, the creature is not pushed or prone. You can spend another ki point to add an additional d10 cold damage to this attack when it lands.
Boulder Toss
At 11th level, when you spend a ki point to use step of the wind, you can use your action to land on an enemy and make four separate attacks, one for each knee, and one for each elbow. If any attack lands, you make a single Shove attempt as part of your Action. If all four attacks hit, your enemy is stunned until the end of your next turn.
Additionally, your strength with Sturdy Mountain Stance increases so much so that you can throw any enemy you have applied the grappled condition to up to 15ft in any direction as a bonus action. When the enemy lands, it must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw or take your martial arts damage and fall prone.
Heart of Granite
When you spend a ki point to use Patient Defense, you gain resistance to all damage except Force damage.
Additionally, you can spend 6 ki points to cast Cone of Cold, but can change its damage to bludgeoning if you wish. When you change its damage in this way, you use your Strength as your Spellcasting Ability.
