Sorcerer
Base Class: Sorcerer

Magic has a wild side and manipulates everything and everyone one way or another. This aspect of magic is inherent in the rare beings born with the soul of trickery. Trickery can be good or evil, it may prank for humour and levity or it may deceive and seduce to manipulate people. They make good liars and can persuade people to try things they normally never would. Some tricksters hide in shadows to pull people's strings while others love the trouble and attention their pranks may bring.

Sometimes a soul of such trickery is born stronger than most to the point where they can even pull on the weave of reality and gain the ability to cast spells, create illusions and enchant minds.

Tricky Escape

Starting at 1st level when you would be hit with an attack you can see you can use your reaction to momentarily cause an illusion of yourself to appear between you and the attacker imposing disadvantage on their attack. If the attack then misses you, you may turn invisible and can teleport silently to an unoccupied space you can see within 15 feet. The invisibility lasts until the end of your next turn and ends early if you attack or cast a spell. Once you have used this feature you cannot cast magic greater than a cantrip until the end of your next turn.

You may use this feature once and recover this use after completing a long rest. You can use this feature twice starting at 6th level, three times starting at 11th level and four times starting at 16th level and you recover all uses after completing a long rest.

Tricky Spells

Starting at 1st level you learn the Minor Illusion cantrip. You learn the 1st level spells Charm Person and Disguise Self. You can cast one of these 1st level spells once at their base level without needing spell slots or material components. You regain the ability to do so after completing a long rest.

When you reach 3rd level you learn the 2nd level spells Suggestion and Invisibility. You can cast one of these 2nd level spells once at their base level without needing spell slots or material components. You regain the ability to do so after completing a long rest.

When you increase in class level and choose to replace any of these spells the spell you replace them with must be from the same school of magic: Enchantment if replacing Charm Person or Suggestion and Illusion if replacing Disguise Self or Invisibility.

Natural Trickster

Enchantment and illusion magic flows easier for you. When you reach 6th level you can cast any Enchantment or Illusion spell you know of 5th level or lower using Sorcery Points instead of using spell slots and if you do you may ignore any component requirements.

If you cast a spell of Enchantment or Illusion magic of 2nd level or higher using a spell slot you may recover a spent spell slot that is 1 level or lower less than the spell you cast up to a maximum of 5th level. For example if you cast an Illusion or Enchantment spell at 3rd level you could recover a spent spell slot of 1st or 2nd level while if you cast an Illusion or Enchantment spell of 7th level you could recover a spent spell slot of any level up to 5th level.

Trickster's Tongue

When you reach 14th level you have beome very good at tricking people with your words. You have advantage on all Charisma (Persuasion) and Charisma (Deception) checks.

Expert Trickster

After you have reached 14th level your illusions and mind altering spells are harder to resist and you find it easier to concentrate on them. The Spell Save DC for any Illusion or Enchantment magic you cast through your spell slots or sorcery points is increased by 2. You have advantage on Constitution saving throws made to maintain concentration on an Illusion or Enchantment spell you have cast.

(The Spell Save DC cannot be adjusted for specific types of spells on the character sheet. You can customise spells in your character sheet to add the +2 bonus individually.)

Magic Trick

After reaching 18th level your power of magical trickery has grown and you may now perform magic spells you normally could not.

You may cast a 7th level spell, or a lower spell cast at 7th level, from the Illusion or Enchantment schools without using spell slots or any components. You do not need to know the spell and it may come from any spell list but will still be considered a Sorcerer Spell for you and uses Charisma as the spellcasting ability. This spell cannot benefit from your Expert Trickster feature or your metamagic.

Once you have used this feature you cannot do so again until you complete a long rest.
