Monk
Base Class: Monk

Way of The Unrestrained Use of Excessive Force is meant to hold your rage, and channel it into doing more damage at the right time.

Gentle Death

When you lose your last hitpoint, you may roll a Wisdom or Dexterity saving throw at a DC of 5 + however much damage you just took to instead be reduced to one hitpoint. You may use this feature as many times per long rest as your Constitution modifier. Failing the saving throw still consumes one use of this ability, but does not keep you from being reduced below one hitpoint. You may not use this if the hit was critical.

Finger on the Trigger

While you have only one weapon in one hand and no other weapons, you may deal an extra two points of damage. If you use two hands, like on a versatile weapon, you do not get this benefit. In addition, you may spend a Ki point to use your bonus action to either add your proficiency to your AC when next attacked, or to immediately make an unarmed attack to retaliate after being hit, choose one. If you are not hit, the Ki point is still expended.

Desperate State

Beginning at 11th level, you use your familiarity with death to escape its grasp. When you are reduced to 0 hit points, you can expend 1 ki point (no action required) to have 1 hit point instead. If you first used Gentle Death to avoid dropping below one hitpoint, you may still use this. You may also use this when hit with a critical strike.

We Like War

If you have taken damage from an opponent, track how much damage they deal. At any time you hit them with an unarmed attack, you may spend one Ki point per die to deal any die of damage to them, as long as the total faces on all the dice are less than the total damage they have dealt to you during this encounter. You may use D20s, but the more dice you use, the more guaranteed damage you'll do. In addition, this damage is whatever type you choose, as long as they dealt that type of damage to you at some point during this encounter.

Damage dealt to you may be reduced, if you are still down to one hitpoint, but the total damage could be dealt to them. Once you use this ability, remove that much from what's been dealt to you.

Say you've taken 558 damage. You use some Ki ;points to deal 4D20, 3D10, and 2D12. That's 134 faces on those dice so subtract 134 from the total damage from that combatant, from the example of 558, so you have 424 damage left to use with this ability. Alternately, you could use 8D20 instead, and reduce the 558 to 398.
