Base Class: Blood Hunter
The Order of the Mageslayer is relatively new. Bloodhunters began joining this order to oppose the evil mages that seem to constantly come to power. As a member of this order, you use your Hemocraft abilities to destroy spells and keep evil magic at bay. Often, mageslayers will study magic to understand how to pull it apart and unweave the threads of power that hold spells together. Some will study in wizard towers along with mages, while others will volunteer to be subjects of magical experiments, experiencing the effects of powerful magic in carefully controlled environments.
Mage Hunter
When you join this order at 3rd level, your Hunter's Bane is enhanced, now also applying to aberrations and monstrosities. Additionally, you can cast detect magic a number of times equal to your Intelligence modifier (minimum of once). Intelligence is your spellcasting ability for this spell. You regain all expended uses of this feature when you finish a long rest.
Rite of the Arcane
Beginning at 3rd level, you learn the Rite of the Arcane esoteric rite (detailed below).
Rite of the Arcane. Your rite damage is force damage. While the rite is active, your weapon deals one additional hemocraft die of rite damage when you hit an aberration, monstrosity, or a creature that has the Spellcasting or Pact Magic trait or class feature.
Arcane Deflection
Upon reaching 7th level, you have learned to deflect projectiles with your weapon, and use your crimson rite to sunder spells slung at you.
When a creature makes a ranged weapon attack against you, you can use your reaction to attack the projectile. Make an attack roll. If your attack roll is higher than the attack roll made against you, you block the projectile in midair. You can use this ability against spells as long as you have your crimson rite active.
Upon reaching 15th level, your ability to attack spells has increased even to area spells. While you have a crimson rite active and would be forced to make a saving throw against a spell or other magical effect, you can instead use your reaction to attack the spell. Instead of making a saving throw, make an attack roll. Treat the attack roll as your saving throw against the spell.
Brand of Rending
Beginning at 11th level, your Brand of Castigation now binds the arcane essence of your foes, leaving them vulnerable to your Crimson Rite. Whenever you damage a branded creature with your Crimson Rite, your weapon deals one additional hemocraft die of rite damage. In addition, until the start of your next turn, if the branded creature attempts to cast a spell with a casting time of 1 action or less, roll a d20. On an 11 or higher, the spell is wasted.
Blood Curse of the Clouded Mind
At 15th level, you’ve honed your hemocraft to befuddle the minds of your foes. You gain the Blood Curse of the Clouded Mind for your Blood Maledict feature. This doesn’t count against your number of blood curses known.
Blood Curse of the Clouded Mind
Prerequisite: 15th level, Order of the Mageslayer
As a bonus action, you can choose one creature you can see within 30 feet of you that took the Attack or [Tooltip Not Found] action. That creature must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or be unable to use that action until the end of its next turn.
Amplify. The creature takes 3d6 psychic damage and is unable to use reactions until the end of its next turn.
Bane of the Mage
Upon reaching 18th level, your experience with fighting against magic and all of its variations has made you aware that the most effective way to deal with magic, is to completely nullify them.
You can cast the spell antimagic field. When cast in this way, you can still use your own hemocraft abilities, including your Crimson Rite and Blood Maledict features, while within the spell's area of effect.
Once you use this feature, you cannot use it again until you complete a long rest.
What is the second action supposed to say on "Clouded Mind". It says, & I quote "As a bonus action, you can choose one creature you can see within 30 feet of you that took the Attack or [Tooltip Not Found] action."
I would assume Held Attack or Dodge, but can't be 100% sure.
But all in all I'm loving this.
This is really awesome.
