Base Class: Monk
From hitting precise hits on certain enemies to do extra damage, to being able to get two reaction moves a turn, the Way of the Keen Eye is truly a great way to become an all-seeing master of combat.
True Focus
Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you can use your ki points for extra focus and can hit enemies where it hurts. Whenever you hit a creature with one of the attacks granted by your Flurry of Blows, you can impose one of the following effects on that target:
- It must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw or be blinded for one turn.
- It must make a Strength saving throw. If it fails, you can do extra damage on that hit equal to 1d8 + Dexterity modifier + monk level. You can only do this as many times per long rest as your wisdom modifier.
- You can attempt a disarm, where you roll an attack at disadvantage versus their Strength (Athletics) check or Dexterity (Acrobatics). Their weapon falls to the ground within 5 ft.
Reactive Blocking
At 6th level, you gain the ability to use your skill of reacting quickly as well as harnessing your ki to make yourself harder to hit for a short time. As a reaction to getting hit by an attack, you can use a ki point to upgrade your AC equal to your Wisdom modifier until the start of your next turn. This blocking technique also adds 15 feet of movement to your speed until the end of your next turn.
Also, from training specifically in knowing your surroundings both in and out of battle, you gain expertise in Perception.
Added Reaction
Beginning at 11th level, you can use 2 ki points as a free action to have an extra reaction until the start of your next turn.
Also, if you use Deflect Missiles Attack with one of these two reactions and you hit, you can add an extra damage die to the damage.
With this second reaction, you can only use the abilities of:
- Opportunity Attack
- Deflect Missiles
- Slow Fall
This ability doesn't work with the ability listed in Sentinel written as: When a creature within your reach makes an attack against a target other than you (and that target doesn't have this feat), you can use your reaction to make a melee weapon attack against the attacking creature.
Precision Personified
At 17th level, you gain the ability to see pressure points on enemies' bodies no matter who they are. When you attempt an unarmed strike, you can spend 4 ki points to immensely focus and hit a weak point, adding +10 to your to hit roll. When you use this action, the creature must make a Constitution saving throw. If it fails, it takes 8d10 necrotic damage and is stunned. If it succeeds, it takes half damage. Regardless, the creature is blinded.
You can have only one creature under the effect of this feature at a time.
