Monk
Base Class: Monk

"What is that lady doing over there?"

That happy figure dancing on a mat in the market intrigued the young gnome. Curious, he decided to conversate with the woman.

"Hello ma'am, um... What are you doing?"

"What am I doing? Well I'm lifting up the mood in this place, I was hired to to it."

"I know but, I've never seen anyone dance like that before, where did you learn that from?"

"See over there?"

The lady points to the large and colourful building on a hill, far from the city.

"That monastery over there taught me everything I needed to know, if you wanna learn, we're always out for new recruits!"

The way of the festival is an oddball of Monk teachings but still highly respected, focusing on attacking with a spring in their step and a great passion in their heart for dance, special effect or some other kind of style. A character who wishes to enlighten with the life of the party will most likely follow this path.

The will for Performance

Monks who choose this path enter into an including community of like-minded individuals with learning seen as not really quite so important as experiencing is, making them usually easy to hire for events and protection. A skill set of one of these monks depend on what kind of performance they do, from dancing to acting out in costume or even lighting up the stage with effects and craze.

The visual appearance of someone who works in The Way of the Festival is strikingly obvious as they usually wear vibrant fabrics and lots of decoration, with the occasional full-body costume or masquerade mask. The underneath of their fabric, however can contain lots of writing from the monastery's studies, including their moral codes and the ways they use their Ki.

Magic Effects

When you choose this subclass at 3rd level, you have learned how to utilise simple spellcasting to create sensations and visual details in your performances. You can choose two cantrips from the following: Minor Illusion, Thaumaturgy, Prestidigitation, Dancing Lights, Light, & Produce Flame. Wisdom is your spellcasing ability for these spells.

Rhythmic Pursuit

At 6th level, you can swing, climb and flip around areas with relative ease, making you able to easily chase after opponents or run away from them. When making chase in an area allowing for such ability, (Dense forests, towns, within housing, etc.) you have an extra 5 feet added to your speed for this duration and you roll for Acrobatics checks with advantage.

Grand Blow

From 11th level, the skill it takes to find weak points is made easier when you confuse your opponents. When using an action to attack with your body, you can disorient the target by turning that attack into a performance and therefore adding an extra 3d4 damage to your blows. You can only use this ability, however, three times before needing to take a long rest.

True Festival

When at 17th level, you have mastered a special ability to bring about a havoc on the battlefield. When you are at less than half health in a fight, you can summon a bout of around 30-40 humanoid figures in a radius of 60 feet around you, these figures are in a state of brash and violent celebration around the radius and will respond to simple commands from you. These commands include:

Pause - They'll stop whatever they're doing and freeze

Resume - They'll go back to their original state of celebration

Focus on me - They'll rush to follow wherever you are going, ignoring most things around them

Copy me - Although delayed, they'll copy whatever you're doing in a single file line

Attack [Name] - They all go to whatever individual you said and attack them, dealing 1d4 bludgeoning damage every two seconds.

This ability ends after around 15 minutes, but you can end it prematurely. It can only be used once per combat encounter.
