Monk
Base Class: Monk

Initiates of the Sightless Eye are often in blindfolds, first learning the traditions through the focus on their sense of touch, smell, and hearing.  It is not uncommon for those born without sight to seek belonging as natural initiates.  Masters and those of pure dedication to these monastic traditions will make themselves permanently blind through various means to show their resolve.  The results of this training allow them to see past the facades of life and the tricks the eyes can play on the mind and instead feel the truths of the world around them.

They teach that the eyes cannot be trusted.  That the eyes are the weakness of all living things, opening up the soul to corruption, deceit, and greed.  To remove the sight and focus on inner peace, the Sightless eye hone their sense to instead focus on the world as it feels and let instinct and intuition guide them away from the evils of the world.  Through their focus and training, the become adept at perceiving through the silver-tongues of lies and can find their way around nimble by picking up on the movements and sensations around them.

Enhanced Senses

Through training and honing the other senses, you gain the ability to perceive things in close proximity and feel things moving nearby.  The subtle vibrations of the ground and air near you reveal to you what can perceive.

You gain Blindsight (30ft) and Tremorsense (30ft).  Any Darkvision you have is reduced to 0.

  • At level 6, tremorsense increases to 45ft
  • At level 11, tremorsense increases to 60ft, blindsight increases to 45ft
  • At level 17, tremorsense increases to 120ft, blindsight increases to 60ft.

Checks made with vision beyond 30ft automatically fail.  You gain advantage Perception and Insight checks made with scent, touch, or sound.

Sacred Heart

You can sense the vital points on an enemy and strike with deadly force.  Hearing the details of the blood, you can strike into vital points to deal greater damage.

Your unarmed attacks score a critical hit on a roll of 19 or 20.

See no Evil

Your honed senses allow you to perceive things others cannot see.  The smallest of movements can be felt and even the faintest hint of a liar's blood rising can give away their intent.

You gain proficiency in insight (WIS) checks.

You can spend two ki points to cast "see Invisibility" without any components and can find anything invisible within the range of your blindsight.

Master of the Sightless Eye

You've become a master of your practice, enhancing your capabilities to the limit of your training.  With it, the moment an attack comes in range, you can feel it, avoid it, and even use it for a chance to counter-attack.

You gain the ability to deflect melee attacks.  You can use your reaction to deflect or catch the attack when you are hit by a melee attack. When you do so, the damage you take from the attack is reduced by 1d10 + your Dexterity modifier + your monk level.

If you reduce the damage to 0, you can counter the attack if you have at least one hand free and the weapon does not have the heavy property. If you catch a melee attack in this way, you can spend 1 ki point to make a flurry of blows attack against the same enemy, as part of the same reaction. You make this attack with proficiency.
