Monk
Base Class: Monk

Monks of the Way of the Lucha are masters of grappling and acrobatic displays. They use their impressive skills to dominate in combat while maintaining a crowd. Most, though not all, choose to wear a mask and embody a persona, both in and out of the ring. While they may not visit their monasteries often due to their fame, they are certain to send some of their earnings back home.

Acrobatic Wrestling

At 3rd level, you better your abilities of aerial movement and restraining foes. You may use your Dexterity modifier in place of your Strength modifier when jumping and grappling. When you make an unarmed strike or monk weapon attack against a creature, you can attempt to grapple the target as a bonus action.

People's Champion

At 3rd level, you learn to work a crowd and gain some fans. You gain proficiency in performance if you are not already. As an action, you can spend 1 ki point to give yourself advantage on performance and persuasion checks against nonhostile creatures for 1 minute.

Descending Strike

At 6th level, you can use gravity to your advantage to make a special unarmed attack. After falling at least 10ft you can increase the damage of an unarmed strike by landing on its target but lose the effects of Slow Fall. The damage from the attack increases by 1 monk die for every 10ft to a maximum of 5 additional die. If you successfully land the attack, you take no fall damage. You can only make this attack once per turn and a number of times equal to your proficiency modifier per long rest. The maximum additional die increases to 7 at 11th level, and 10 at 17th level.

Crowd Pleaser

Starting at 11th level, your lucha spirit bolsters your health when people are watching. When you roll initiative for a combat encounter with visible spectators, you gain temporary hit points equal to twice your monk level. You lose any remaining temporary hit points when combat ends or if there are no more remaining spectators.

Leap of Faith

At 17th level, the spirit of the eagle embodies you granting superior acrobatics. You gain advantage on all acrobatic checks. When you use your Step of the Wind feature, your jump height increases to 20ft. You can spend between 1 to 8 ki points to increase that height by 10ft per ki point. When you use your Descending Strike feature on a creature with less than half their max hp, the attack does an additional 10 points of damage.
