Monk
Base Class: Monk

Through rigorous training, you have learned to manipulate your Ki with incredible precision to place it in objects. This knowledge allows you to remotely touch the very being of another creature.

You can, thanks to the use of Ki marks, sabotage the very life essence of a creature to produce a number of different effects from helpful to absolutely destructive.

Rend

Starting at level 3, you learn how to place Ki marks on your target with each flurry of blows hit. You can then retroactively spend Ki points to rip these marks out of your target's body dealing force damage.

  • Each one of your flurry of blows hits passively leaves a Ki Mark on your target.
  • The marks placed this way fade after a long rest.
  • The marks placed this way fade if you are incapacitated.
  • You cannot place more than 5 Ki marks on a singular target.
  • You can then, through the use of Rend, as a bonus action, expand Ki points to extract the Ki marks on your target ripping them out of your target's body to deal:

[Martial Arts Dice * Ki Marks Expanded] Force damage.

  • You can Rend a creature regardless of the range between you and it but only if it is within the same plane as you.
  • The cost of extracting Ki marks through the use of Ki points its detailed in the table below:

Ki points used per mark

Ki Marks Ki points used
1 1
2 1
3 2
4 3
5 3

Pressure Point

At level 6 you are able to read the Ki ripped through the use of Rend and passively extract important information about your target. The higher your Monk level, the more information you are able to read.

Through the first use of Rend on a creature, Pressure Point triggers; You learn the following information about the targeted creature:

  • At level 6, you learn what is the type of the creature ( Fiend, Beast, Celestial...) as well as it's condition immunities and damage immunities (If Any)
  • At level 10, you learn what are the creature's damage resistances and damage vulnerabilities (If Any)
  • At level 14, your ability to read through the use of Rend becomes masterful. Your first unarmed melee attack after the triggering of "Pressure Point" is made at advantage.

Ki Empowered Stunning Strike

Starting level 11 you can, If a target has 3 or more Ki marks, choose to expend 3 of them through the use of Stunning Strike.

  • When you decide to use this ability, the cost of Stunning Strike is 3 Ki points instead of 1.
  • The target must succeed on a Constitution saving throw using you Monk Save DC or be paralyzed until the end of its next turn.

Ki Focus

At 17th level, you gain the ability to concentrate in order to focus the Ki energy present in Ki Marks. This ability is taken as part of the Flurry of Blows bonus action.

  • If a creature has 5 Ki marks you can start concentrating on the Ki marks left in a creature's body causing them to become unstable.
  • You can only concentrate on Ki marks for 1 hour.
  • As long as you are concentrating and as long as the creature is within the same plane as you, you know its exact position.
  • If you take any damage while concentrating you must succeed on a Constitution saving throw (Following the rules for concentration) or lose concentration and take 2d10 force damage, causing all unstable marks to fade off the creature.
  • Using Rend on unstable marks doubles its damage.
