Base Class: Monk
The ancient tradition of the Zodiac warriors is as old as time itself. For generations, men and women have trained to defend the balance of the universe by tapping into a special connection called the Cosmo. These warriors learn to sharpen their senses so that the loss of one sense only has minimal effects on their combat performance. Once they are ready, they then receive the blessing of one of the twelve star constellations, acquiring new talents and powers. For as long as one warrior of the Zodiac stands, the universe will remain in balance.
Intuition
When you choose this subclass at level 3, the first step on your journey is to develop the sixth sense, Intuition. This sixth sense allows you to make up for the deprivation of a sense by empowering your other senses.
-
While you’re blinded, you can use your Flurry of Blows, Patient Defense and Step of the Wind features without spending Ki.
-
While you are unable to speak (such as when you’re under the effect of the silence, you can communicate telepathically with a single creature within 30 feet of you. You must share a language for this feature to work. Being gagged doesn’t count as being unable to speak.
- While you are deafened, you gain resistance to thunder damage.
Seventh Sense
You have been blessed with the power of a star constellation. At level 6, choose one of the 12 Zodiac aspects and its associated feature. When you gain a level in this class, you can change the Zodiac aspect for a different one.
- Aspect of the Scorpio: You can use your action to spend 4 ki points to cast the bestow curse spell. The DC equals 8 + your proficiency modifier + your Wisdom modifier.
- Aspect of the Cancer: Your unarmed attacks have an extra 5 feet of range.
- Aspect of the Pisces: You can breath underwater and you do not suffer the penalties for fighting underwater.
- Aspect of the Virgo: You can use your action to spend 3 ki points to cast the blindness/deafness spell. The DC equals 8 + your proficiency modifier + your Wisdom modifier.
- Aspect of the Aries: The movement bonus from your Unarmored Movement feature is doubled.
- Aspect of the Taurus: You have advantage on Strenght checks and Strenght saving throws.
- Aspect of the Leo: You have advantage on the saving throws to resist being frightened or charmed.
- Aspect of the Gemini: When you use your Flurry of Blows feature, if the first attack hits, the second one has advantage.
- Aspect of the Capricorn: When you roll for the damage for your unarmed attacks, you can reroll the die. You must keep the new result.
- Aspect of the Sagittarius: You gain proficiency with all bows and crossbows. They count as monk weapons for you.
- Aspect of the Aquarius: You can use your action to spend 4 ki points to cast the slow spell. The DC equals 8 + your proficiency modifier + your Wisdom modifier.
- Aspect of the Libra: When you are hit with an attack that targets you, you can use your reaction to make an attack against the creature that hit you, assuming that you are in range to hit it.
Cosmic Burn
Your fists have become a conduit for the energy of the cosmos. They allow you to put more weight behind your hand to hand combat. Starting at level 11, when you hit a creature with an unarmed attack, you can spend 1 ki point to roll a second martial art die and add it to the total as force damage.
Last Resort
Suffering a grievous wound is not enough to stop you from reaching your goal. When you reach level 17, whenever your hit points reach 0, you can use your reaction to stay at 1 hit points and become immune to all damage until the end of your next turn. You also regain half of your expanded ki points. Once you use this feature, you need to take a long rest before you can use it again. You cannot activate this feature if you are killed instantly.
